Clinton to Philly Daily News: I "misspoke" in prepared remarks about Bosnia landing
Her campaign spokesman conceded the point this morning, and she met later in the day with the Philadelphia Daily News and Inquirer, where she was grilled by columnist Will Bunch:
Earlier this afternoon, Sen. Hillary Clinton came to the Daily News and Inquirer building here in Philadelphia -- where she's seeklng the Daily News editorial board endorsement -- and I had a chance to ask her about a controversy that's increasingly dogged her campaign the last few days: Whether she misrepresented the danger of her March 1996 trip to a U.S. military base in Bosnia in an effort to boost her foreign policy credentials.
Clinton acknowleged today for the first time that it was a "misstatement" when she said in a major prepared foreign policy speech last week that "I remember landing under sniper fire" but also tried to brush off the entire issue as "a minor blip." She also gave a revised account of her airplane landing and her tarmac greeting at the Tuzla Air Force base 12 years ago -- seeking to explain a picture re-published this weekend in the Washington Post showing her and daughter Chelsea calmly greeting an 8-year-old girl.
In her speech last week at George Washington University, Clinton maintained "[t]here was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base. Today, she told our group at the Daily News that she was informed that we "had to meet this 8-year-old girl," so "I took her stuff and left."

That’s the usual first response of a dem, blame everyone else for misunderstanding them.
Sadly, there will be no such "reporter" to "cover" Obama's various inaccuracies or outright lies.
Just as the MSM were in the tank for BILL Clinton, they have now lined up with Barack ("the name that no one dare speak") Obama.
Hillary, it’s called “lying”, not mis-speaking.
If there were real snipers about, you would not be here to tell your tall tales.
Her original remarks could have been a “miss-speak”. However, I saw her response (another thread) to a reporter that mentioned Sinbad saying how “I don’t remember any snipers - I just remember wondering when the next meal was” and she says something like “well - he’s a comedian...”. Then she goes into detail again about the C-17 or whatever, the cancelled handshakes on the tarmac and running to the terminal.
How can one “miss-speak”, and after a day or few after already some discussion about it - reaffirm your statement when it is not true? I guess once the video tape got played, etc. you have to come clean. (ohhhhh - THAT Bosnia!)
To quote Bill Clinton: “Mistakes were made...” (By somebody is the implication, and “somebody” sure gets around.)
Ohhhhhh...so...is she also acknowledging that the trip to Bosnia offers no substantive evidence of her foreign policy acumen?

Just like her part-time husband, Hillary is a very SICK person. Lying like this shows how she’s built herself up in her own mind to be some sort of military legend. It also shows the TOTAL DISRESPECT she has for the media and the HATE she has for the American people. Every American should be sickened by how Hillary just expected us to believe her FAIRYTALE. The Clintons aren’t just liberal. They aren’t just corrupt. They are evil, sick and pathetic all at the same time. And any so-called American (including Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter or Joe Scarborough) who spends time defending Hillary or drumming up votes for Hillary is now an enemy of mine.
Saw the film of her arriving in Bosnia, several times today. Smiles all around, shaking hands, talking to child, didn’t see a single sniper, no gun shots, no one in a rush, etc. She really is disgusting.
She lies like a rug.
Anyone remember her saying that her daughter Chelsea was in danger on 9-11?
