Also, the debate with the "Black Community" about dark skinned blacks versus light skinned blacks can be venomous.
Garrett Morris did a parody interview sketch about this in 1976 - and it touched a nerve.

I never understood how a person who was, say, 70% of Caucausian racial make up got away with calling themselves "Black." In part, because this country has a history of applying the "one drop rule." Meaning that if you had one drop of black (or Indian or Hispanic) blood you were listed as "colored."
