To: Quality_Not_Quantity
“It’s ‘bou-quet’, if you please.”

I found out not too many years ago that I had ancestors whose last name was "Buckey;" not long afterward, I was told that it was actually a corruption of "Bouquet." True or not, we laughed like H over that, seeing something of a reverse Keeping Up Appearances.

(Our family does have more Daisys and Onslows than Hyacinths, though.)

I had an ancestor whose last name was Butcher. His wife didn’t like the way the name was pronounced. She insisted that in her hearing the name was to be pronounced Booshay’. Everybody went along with it too.

The local PBS station shows her on saturday nights, we catch it when we can. Onslow is my hero. I can’t find one of them FH hats like the one he wears (It’s some austrailian trucking company)
