FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Police in Franklin said a 10-year-old girl tried to rob a Mapco Express late Monday night.
The clerk said the main reason he called police was that he was worried about the girl being out so late and trying to rob a store.
He said he wasnt sure what the girl wanted until she threw a rock that struck him in the chest. The rock was all she was armed with. The clerk said he was so stunned that the girl had to ask the clerk three times for the money.

She’ll need to get a bigger rock.
If you outlaw rocks only outlaws will have rocks
Ban all rocks. Problem solved. ;)
Just evidence of the bad influence that Rock can have on children.
“Police said it appears that the child has a stable home life and was well taken care of.”
Yes. Stable home life usually leads to runnign away from home and attempted robbery.
I can only imagine the hell the parents of this girl has put her through. This girl needs our prayers.
This is the second story I’ve heard of in the past two days where a child has tried to rob a store or a bank. In fact, at first I thought this was the other story. It’s definately a new world out there. When I was 10 we were riding our bikes, playing Beatles records and were in bed by 9 on school nights (and probably weekend nights, too).
Wait four or five years. She’ll probably get more than that.
This story is like one of those little chihuahuas that bites and barks at everyone. When they are five pounds, they are cute. If they are 100 lbs. they are nasty and deadly.
My parents always spanked me when I was 10 and tried something like this. As a result, I became law abiding ...no later than 12.
Register rocks and keep them disabled in a rock box.
They’ll have to pry my Van Halen CDs from my cold, dead hands! ;)
Obvious learning disability ... her “teacher” said Glock but she brought a rock. A trip to juvie will set her back on the road to hell.
She’s been listening to her brothers and her “uncles.”
Thank you. This girl was taught this sort of behavior and is emulating the adults around her.
Typical white person.
Actually, the reports say she is from a good family, fairly well to do, and they are stunned. (This is my community, and where the station is located is in the middle of fairly high priced homes) She snuck out of the house after they had her in bed asleep, and after the “robbery” attempt, she was found unconcious in a nearby parking lot. There is a whole lot of information missing here.
Another graduate of the Ernest T. Bass Crime School.
Earnest T . . . hehehehe.
Dang it, my picture didn’t show up.
Reckon I’ll have to go bust some windows now.
No coffee, tea, or punch thank you.
