This is pathetic. She was a Forest Service employee and at best guilty of gross negligence, at worst may have set the fire intentionally. This is not justice.
She admits setting the fire.
The second part is less obvious : many believe that she wanted to be a “ hero “ by finding a fire...She claimed that she was just burning a letter from her estranged husband .
She lied about much of it at first...until the fire investigators caught her in her own lies. Then she “ confessed.”
