You guys just can’t let go...it’s so....bizarre. I did not enter a discussion about Terri Shiavo...carrying around so much hate will age you, my friend...I wonder what you look like. Hmmm..
And this isn't about killing JEWS either.
Reading your post, my initial reaction was that you were being selfish.....until I placed myself in the death bed with you. ;^)
That was a nice little spiel...but it has nothing really to do with the discussion at hand. If your mother needed around the clock care for her illness...and she nor any of her family could afford it, what would happen? I don’t think I can put it much simpler.
I look very good, thank you.
If you want to steer this thread narrowly into the subject of old people getting euthanized, maybe you could offer up one or two such subjects for discussion. Do you know of any? (Think hard. I’m sure you do.)
I believe that in the future I shall avoid Scotland.
Have you considered THIS REALITY?:
Social Security and Medicare are both "Ponzi schemes" that are wholly dependent upon FUTURE generations of taxpayers to fund them. Baby Boomers were the largest generation in history; however, as long as they reproduced at about the same rate as their parents, there wouldn't be an issue. But instead, the Baby Boomers decided to kill nearly 50 MILLION FUTURE TAXPAYERS and as a result their future financial security is in jeopardy. This is a huge "unintended consequence" of their selfishness.
When you hear politicians talking about amnesty and wonder why some want to make the illegal aliens legal, realize that in addition to workers (killing 50 MILLION people creates a labor shortage as well), we need more TAXPAYERS.
well of course not..THAT’S THE POINT....But the question at hand is WHERE WILL ALL THIS MONEY COME FROM???
It wasn't complicated at all, a disabled woman needed rehabilitation, she could afford it. Instead her adulterous, estranged "husband" murdered her. Only members of the culture of death think that whether or not a murder should occur is a matter of opinion or open for debate.
It’s not so much a question of where it will come from, as where it went.
YOU supported MURDERING the people who would be paying for it.
Any other questions?
But the natural conclusion here is socialized medicine. And my first hunch is that there's going to be a lot of placebo administered to certain groups or specific individuals.
Phony flu-shots for seniors, etc..
Don't say it couldn't happen under a RAT trifacta AND a LIBERAL/SOCIALIST SCOTUS.
OH MY GOD.....You’re insane....leave me alone...I want to speak with people who aren’t obsessive compusive...go get help.
Oh? Do you deny your longtime support for abortion? Or are you simply unable to comprehend how much more money there would be with 50 MILLION more taxpayers?
I consider it compulsive to murder people. Maybe you could speak to Himmler and Hitler?
One way or another money would run out. Either on their own, or the government provided.
I'm not for euthenasia. But from what I'd gather, your feelings are guiding you.
Life is tough. But when you require others to be responsible for your life, then those you given responsibility to get to make the decisions.
“Something bad happening in my family is MY RESPONSIBILITY. If I expect government/society to rescue me, I’m ...expecting someone else to be responsible for my life. What right or entitlement or claim do I have...”
Are you speaking in terms of national healthcare? If so, then the decision and payment process for ordinary and catastophic care is mindboggling, as we all know.
In the extreme, let’s say a liver transplant wait is between ‘you,’ an illegal, an inmate and a homeless person. Who decides who gets the liver and how is the decision made? How are funds allocated? Which hospitals can perform the surgery reputably? What if ‘another guy’ has the $$ to go private and get ahead of the line? What if a person is a party member...does that give special privileges?
How is expertise in the medical field rewarded? How is a shortage, e.g., of nurses, handled? For a 24/7, nnn bed hospital?
We know that socialized medicine isn’t going to work anymore than Social Security has. Businessmen wanted part of physicians’ practices and hospital money and grabbed profit. Now, clerks can decide which medical procedures are covered or not. Errors can be made on claims. Payments for national care systems are notoriously late and have put many a single doctor out of business. Execs earn m/billions.
Just as house calls have passed into memory, so will outstanding healthcare. This is coming down to who will decide who lives, dies and what goes on in between. And why. Cost will be only part of the issue.
I think you mistake respect for the sanctity of life with feelings.
Life is tough. But when you require others to be responsible for your life, then those you given responsibility to get to make the decisions.
When a government accepts the responsibility for something, then they need to follow through.
As I've already said on this thread, the problems that are facing Social Security and Medicare today are the direct result of the Baby Boomer generation killing 50 MILLION future taxpayers.
“maybe you could offer up one or two such subjects for discussion. Do you know of any? “
Yes. Scenario: 91 year old man. Survivor of prostate cancer. Other than that, no surgeries. Hardly took aspirin. Went to hospital after Labor Day one year. In hospice by the end of two weeks, courtesy of his son...who talked to him. Never even went back to his home. Dead 3 weeks later due to denial of food/water and morphine injections per ‘palliative care’ practices.
It was a great hospice, too.
Scenario 2: 93 year old woman. Diagnosed with stage 4, metastacized renal cancer. Diagnosis changed to terminal throat and mouth cancer. Received radiation and infusions. Cancer DISAPPEARED.
Then what.........
Both these situations happened.
“When a government accepts the responsibility for something, then they need to follow through.”
Just to inject a little levity here, this thought is not the origin of ‘close enough for government work’ is it, Wagglebee?
