WASHINGTON - White House hopeful Barack Obama suggests he would have left his Chicago church had his longtime pastor, whose fiery anti-American comments about U.S. foreign policy and race relations threatened Obama's campaign, not stepped down.
"Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying at the church," Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, "The View." The interview will be broadcast Friday.

Twenty years this poor excuse for a human being listened to this garbage, now suddenly he realizes the "Reverend" was offending people? Can anyone spell hypocrisy?

I’m sick of hearing about the greatness of this country despite all its flaws. The flaws we have are leftie induced flaws. They control the schools. They control the major cities. Look at what has happened in just those two areas. Everything they touch turns to crap. Yeah B.O. there are flaws in this country. Look in the mirror when you want to find someone to blame.

I don’t know why Obama doesn’t or didn’t just come out and say that he chose this church because it was one of the largest churches in his district. Most politicians who go to church generally pick a church that just happens to be the largest churches in their district. Go figure. Kinda like Romney should have just said “hey I flip-flopped on abortion and gay rights and other issues because I was running for governor of the People Republic Of Massachusetts.”

He is flip flopping like crazy. I just decided to go over to Anderson Cooper to see what was on CNN because I can only take so much of Greta and to my surprise they had the Antisemitic Newsletter story that Wright had published as breaking news. They also mentioned the Italian insults.
They said he is going on The View (puke) tomorrow, to clarify the situation even more.
I am sure his campaign is in full panic mode right now and they are asking him to say this.
I laugh when he says he is above the fray of typical politicians. He IS a typical politician.

The church is not just one man - the preacher was just the figurehead and preached the core beliefs and tenets of the church - and they will continue to be taught.
We know you're lying through your teeth and that you take us for fools - but let's just say we believe you...that you saw nothing, heard nothing and read nothing, for 20 years.
We don't need that kind of blindness to what's going on around him as our CIC

I find it interesting the Rev is being kept under wraps and that no one in the media is speculating on why he has become invisible.
He has canceled appearances in Florida, Houston, Fort Worth and Dallas in the last 3 or 4 days, giving the very insulting excuse of ‘safety concerns’.
The truth is the Rev could help his old buddy a lot if he appeared a little contrite or chastened and said something nice about the good old USA and the basic goodness of America or some such BS, but it is not in him.
Instead, his self pride would require him to rant and rail about being victimized by Whitey and spew more hate. For that reason, he has been removed from public display.
To: HD1200
"Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying at the church," Obama said" yea right. The church and it's new pastor still fel the same way, which it's website, updated dince that 'evil pastor' left, still promotes all that white and American hatred.
Another lie Obama. Maybe you should try harder to check out the FACTS first, or at least have your wife change the churches web site before you come out with these lies about your personal feelings about this nation and white people.
To: HD1200
“...I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying at the church,” Obama said”
He felt perfectly comfortable for 20 years. Now that we “typical white people” are seeing the real Obama, he's not so comfortable, any longer.

"Goes to show you that even the best liar eventually finds himself neck deep in his own bullshit." That's the thing about lies, they always come back to trip the liar up.
With truth, you never have to worry about how much of it you told, or even remember you told it at all, because when the time comes for you to recall it, it will be the same.

Does any one have the exact quote of Obama's admitting he lied and was in the church when Wright Wronged White?
Me and President McDole would like a copy, may be McDole's last gasp being he's so behind on everything else.

Total BS. Obama (the upper-middle class not quite black-enough guy) needed this race hustler to get 'creed" on the streets when he was running in an inner city district for the state assembly. Wright was a guy who could punch his ticket. He needed him.
The fact Obama didn't walk away from the clown after he was elected to the US Senate on a state-wide basis 4 years ago tells me that nothing Wright said bothered him all that much. Obama didn't give a damn either way.
Personally, I don't think Obama is a racist, an Islamist, or much of anything else. He's just another left wing hustler who's career is all about sucking from the government and with no particular talent for anything. Not much different than the Clintons when you think about it.
