What an excellent batch today, Pookie! Ramirez, McCoy, Muir, and Asmussen all keep getting better all the time!
The first cartoon, though, struck me as one of the ALL-time BEST reminders of why it is so offensive to me when the Clintons use casual religious comparisons in reference to themselves. Whether it is Hillary’s camp likening Richardson’s endorsement to a Biblical betrayal of a Savior unto death on a cross, Bill using the Bible as a mere prop during the Lewinsky scandal, or the creepy, creepy, creepy speech of Bill’s in 1992 (1991?), saying that he is the “new covenant” for America (as Jesus was for all of God’s people), it sends chills down my spine to consider how the Clintons consider themselves our personal “messiahs”. It is more loathsome to me to see their self-anointment as our saviors (because it is so empty of religious sincerity) even than it is to have the media slaver over Obama’s messianic appeal. Obama’s message (vacuous as it may be) is at least nominally about people’s hopes, while the Clintons’ message is about THEM. Yech, and double yech. Neither one should be allowed anywhere near the position of President of the United States of America.
Okay, I think I’m done ranting for a bit. LOL!
