“Hey! Im an Evangelical Protestant and Im as oppossed to our Balkan Policy as you are. And I would imagine most of us are too. So please dont paint us with that broad of a brush. Thank you.”
Polls, for what they are worth, seem to indicate that the overwhelming majority of the ever declining support for our foreign policy in the Balkans and the Middle East comes from evangelical Protestants, and strangely with regard to the Palestinians, in addition from leftists. Here on FR you can get a feel for the attitude of some evangelicals towards Eastern Christianity by reading the Religion forum threads where we are accused of worshiping the “stock of a tree”. I thought it was a “stump of wood” but I was corrected. I am pleased that you apparently do not share any Mohammedan desire to exterminate Eastern Christianity are refuse to follow the leader, lock step, when it comes to the Balkans.
Yeah, I wouldn’t make too big of assumptions based on those polls. I am a strong opponent of our Balkan policies and I am an evangelical Christian. I would be especially suspicious of the poll as it regards the Palestinians because many of the evangelical churches are also devoted supporters of the state of Israel.
