I agree he is the worst Republican. One can argue that he is no Republican. His flip flops on taxes are worse than Hillary's license fiasco. Yet MSM gives him a pass on it.

His numerous gaffes during Middle East trip, with Lieberman having to whisper answers to him, revealed he has mental issues. He admitted he knows little about the economy, and he has missed around 56% of the Senate votes.

Now his contact with radical Muslims is another strike against him. His lies are like those of a sociopath. How can anyone trust him with running the country?

BTW, did you know that he was a POW and his friend Kerry served in Vietnam?

there is a long list of who I don’t want to see as VP. It is bad enough having the nutjob at the top of the ticket.

DeWine got trounced when running for re-election. If he's going to pick someone who has recently lost an election, George Allen or Michael Steele would be better choices. Graham comes across on TV as weak and limp-wristed (whatever he is in real life), and the Democrats have a lock on the metrosexual vote so that doesn't help.

Tom Coburn of Oklahoma might be a good choice, or Mark Sanford of South Carolina.

Romney would probably drive away more voters than he would attract. If McCain's main problem with the base is the perception that he is a RINO, it doesn't help to pick another RINO (with a worse record on important issues) as his running mate.

I look at this way - choice is to have the engineering firm (preferably an experienced and trusted one) to look after a tear in the dyke.... and until they show up...

I chew a wad of gum to plug the leak temporarily.

I do not call in Hillary or Obama to hold an expensive meeting to get outsource bids from ten different national and international corporations and hold union negotiations while the leak gets bigger.

I won’t stay home. I will vote for any conservative down-ticket. That is where we need to concentrate - no dim congress, regardless of who wins,

Three laws of Presidential elections:

It’s just binary, and one of the two will win.

It is NOT heaven down here. We’re all just mucking along.

Refusing to ‘hold your nose and vote’ does give your vote to the Marxist other.

After all the nasty things I’ve ever said about John McCain( and I firmly believe them to this day) at this point in time the dims have so putrefied the race that I will now pull the lever for him and NOT hold my nose. Although I would have personally preferred a Thompson/Hunter or Hunter/Thompson ticket.

you are right, to control any of them including McCain we need a Republican Congress and Senate. I am supporting my Republican candidate for Congress.

Love the author, but he hasn’t convinced me of anything. He left a lot out of the McCain record. McCain can destroy what hillary cannot touch: the GOP. It may already be lost anyway, but McCain will make it a sure thing.

“Initially, he voted against Bush’s tax cuts, but that was because he wanted them tied to cuts in spending.”

That’s a lie.

He opposed the Bush tax cuts because he believed they were tilted too heavily toward the “rich.”

Mr. McCain sometimes lets slip a certain socialist class-warfare mentality that is disturbing.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill’s views on democracy, John McCain is the worst presidential candidate in the world, except for all the rest.

Eight years of Dubya followed by four years of McCain would be a disaster.

Particularly, now that the Bushies have decided that their final gambit (or hot poker up our as*) will be "reform" of the regulation of the financial markets. That can only mean one thing. The Bushies want us to bend over again, and that won't be good for anyone. We definitely don't want one of the Keating 5 to finish up the damage that the Bushies don't finish.

The solution to bad government is never more government.

While McCain is a problem, the real problem would be four more years of the GOP as it's currently composed.

A potential problem is that if the Rats win the White House this year (which is likely), who will the GOP have in 2012 to win it back? Is there another "Bob Dole" waiting in the wings. Hope not.

Exactly

The alternatives (voting for one of the other two) or worse: not voting, are abdicating the responsibility for doing what you can in a positive manner.

The candidate representing your party is the only vote and to coach people into doing otherwise is wrong.

This is my first U.S. vote and I’ll do my best by voting - I’ve waited long enough.

To refuse to vote is non productive and negative.

But, still, I heard from a number of disgruntled right-wingers who vowed not to sully their principles by helping to elect a candidate they regarded as indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

Hillary was off voting that day and heck, it really is not that hard to tell MxCain from Hussein. MxCain is the one in the middle with the shifty eyes.

Sooooo, I suppose we can get scr***ed by a liberal that is too chicken to admit he is a Democrat or a liberal that is not too chicken to admit he is a Democrat.

woo-hoo...

Yep. Looks like the People’s Temple conservatives are once again feeling the need to convince us ungrateful wretches to book our tickets on the Pure Bull Express.

Pure socialism or socialism-lite; the final destination is still the same.
