Only if he appoints a legitimate conservative to the bottom of the ticket. If he appoints Graham or DeWine, I vote third party.

He may be a “maverick,” but he’s not insane. He wants to win, so I don’t think he’d be foolish enough to pick Graham or DeWine. Maybe Chris Cox, maybe Romney for economic reasons...maybe even Sarah Palin, who’s quite conservative but geographically challenged. But not a Graham-type.

I really don't understand what conservatives would gain by a conservative VP candidate. The track record for VP's influencing the President's decisions is not impressive.

Are you concerned about succession, either during the first term or after Senator McCain retires?

” . . . If he appoints Graham or DeWine, I vote third party.”

I believe that the Free Republic top people are not eager to have certain of the “third parties” endorsed, promoted, or even mentioned much on these pages. But I am interested in knowing some third party choices beyond the one beginning with the letter ‘L’ (not my choice at all), or having the initials ‘CP’ (A truly conservative and pro-Constitution party; I don’t think anything about them is allowed here — not sure these days), and then another that I just recently learned about beginning with ‘Ph’.

Are there others? Voting third party, of course is casting a vote and exercising the right to vote. Staying home is not good.

there is a long list of who I don’t want to see as VP. It is bad enough having the nutjob at the top of the ticket.

>>>>”I will vote 3rd party”>>> (If I don't get my way.)

Thank you buckeye for setting me straight! >//sarcasm>//

Nobody has stated any reason why to vote for John Sidney McCain. He has made clear his liking for radical Muslims. This, along with photos, was exposed on another thread here whose title I forgot.

He is too liberal, too feeble to perform his Senate obligations, has sponsored more liberal legislation than any other candidate, wants amnesty and open borders. Of biggest concern is the fact that he is loony tunes and gets an insane look in his eyes. He and Cindy give me the creeps.
