I think that Mookie is getting impatient to meet his virgins.
The Corps is there to arrainge that meeting.

If he stays alive, somewhere down the road...Mookie will be the leader of Iraq.

We have been putting up with crap and backstabbing from this POS since the first weeks of this war.
He should have been taken out in May of 2003.
What makes any logically thinking, reasonable person think it will be done now?

Before it was about war politics and tactics. Now it’s about presidential politics and money...he’s a dead man. ;>)

What makes any logically thinking, reasonable person think it will be done now? The Mook has out-lived his limited usefulness. With the Surge tactics bearing fruit abundantly, the country is enough under control that Maliki wants him and his Iranian pals far away from the oilfields. Real far.
It's just power politics. Before, we didn't want to take Mookie on, and came to limited terms with him for the sake of general order. But Petraeus dealt the country a new hand, and the Mookster drew a pair of deuces. As a Shiite, Maliki has the credentialsand now the military forceto squash his army and arrange for him to have an accident. He's toast.

Sadr is more trouble than Zarqawi....and we took him out. But somehow the Mookster is bathed in the aura of a Islamic high priest, (and his connections to Iran) and the US is afraid to touch him.
He needs a double tap to the head....but I have no idea who has the guts to do it?

What makes any logically thinking, reasonable person think it will be done now?He has many more enemies than us. Shitheads like this guy, in violent regions of the world, generally have short shelf lifes, and this guy is past his expiration date.
We may get him. Some Sunni badasses might get him. Somebody in his own chain of command who feels slighted might get him. He's not bulletproof.
