He wants McCain to beat Obama so Hillary can run again in 2012 - McCain probably would be only a one term President. If you are correct, then McCain's choice for VP running mate is that much more critical.

I don’t think Slick really wants his wife to win.

I dont think Slick really wants his wife to win.It is far more likely that he knows that she can't win, and he wants McCain to win instead. If McCain wins, Hillary gets to run again in 2012. If Obama wins, she can't run again until 2016.

This is the Clinton's attempt at their own version of "Operation Chaos." I, like many Freepers, am very disappointed about the choice of McCain and for all the views he holds that I strongly disagree with, he still is a better choice and as has become clear his moderate/maverick positions that so infuriate many of us is like deadly poison to the chances of Clinton or Obama. They'll nail on the Iraq War and the "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" and "100 years" comments. And being the complete hypocrites they are they will make digs, jokes about his age and in the process piss off many of the most reliable voters - seasoned citizens.
So again not happy about the choice of McCain but enjoying the fact that they will have to go extra dirty to battle McCain's maverick tendencies that appeal to alot of the mushy middle.

I was thinking much the same thing. Even without the political calculation for a 2012 run I expect the Clinton’s would rather see McCain win than Obama.

None of you have gotten this Bill Clinton stunt right. Forget 2012
What’s really going on is Bill Clinton is trying to psych out Barrack and minimize his importance by talking about Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the general election. This talk diminishes Obama. Makes him seem inconsequential and irrelevant because after all, we (Democrats) know this upcoming election will be between two legitimate and adult candidates-— Hillary and McCain
Bill’s praise of John McCain is also a try to drive up the polling numbers of Hillary supporters who claim they will vote McCain if Obama gets the nomination. The higher these numbers, the more essential it is to nominate Hillary and offer the VP slot to Obama

Be very careful. You are not allowed to say anything around here anymore unless it praises McPain as a conservative warrior. The McPologists are on the swarm and their stingers are out.;)

For Pity’s sake, I was joking. I don’t have a problem calling him names because he does the same to people.
He has been called names around here for a long time. Since when did he become someone other than what he always was?

“he does the same to people”?
What are you saying here?
All I meant is that it all gets kind of old: McLame, McPain, etc. Okay, some people don’t like him. But isn’t there a cause for some respect? I guess I was taught that, yes, there is.
Anyway, I admit that McCain was not my first choice, but he’s much better than any of the Democrats!
