The LAUSD has 694,288 students; he’s saying gays now make up 5% of the population? The article says that is based on general population statistics, and you would have to think that the number of adult hari-dressers who move to LA would drive the % at least that much.

That’s slightly above the percentage that the most reputable study has marked - 3%. Of course some urban areas probably have higher, some fewer.
