The continued efforts to railroad someone for a non-crime is further proof to me that our “leadership” is not interested in a real victory in Iraq or Afghanistan, but a show.

I've always thought that they'd try to hang it all on Frank. Still praying that they give it all up.

Progress on Honor slow but moving forward. Stop Loss won't help.

You are absolutely right. When this thing is done, the Corps should make damned sure that the careers of those JAG asses are ended. Surely there are some charges that can be brought against them through UCMJ. Any recourse through the Ricco Statutes or other conspiracy laws? Those bastards need to pay dearly for using complaints FROM THE ENEMY to prosecute these brave Marines.

Sharratt engaged four Iraqis armed with AK-47 rifles with his pistol after his light machine gun jammed. He was initially charged with murder for managing to kill them.

Nice shooting there, Tex.

four Iraqi prisoners of war on November 9, 2004

So 18 months after the initial combat mission ended we captured four uniformed Iraqi military members?

Defense attorneys and beleaguered Marines say their cherished Corps’ surprise decision Friday to dismiss criminal charges against a Marine infantryman accused of mass murder at Haditha, Iraq, is just another billboard announcing the troubles plaguing Marine Corps morale today. Loyalty up and down the ranks, the bedrock on which the 232-year old fighting force was built, is under attack.

What else would you expect when the guy at the top is a bona fide coward who is more interested in playing monica to the extreme left then he is in protecting the men who have the equipment to use urinals and fight?

Anyone that thinks clinton or obama would be worse at protecting the US Military than Bush is, is a blind idiot who puts republican party politics ahead of the lifes of our Marines. Bush is a coward when it comes to backing, supporting and protecting the men in uniform. And those who defend him need to get off their knees and open their eyes.

You have to convince people that there’s an audience for an Iraq-themed film that is PRO-troops and PRO-America. All the other flops have been the opposite. (Easier said than done, I know.)

Why them, how about their masters way up the food chain?

These punk JAG officers are nothing more than monicas for their collective masters in Washington. Bush could have stopped this if he had any guts. He didn't and he doesn't. Stop blaming the punk on the bottom of the chain, put the blame where it belongs, on the coward in the oval office.

Damn straight. Goes to show you can clear a room with a 9mm pistol if you’re good enough.

Of course, the enemy would never just toss their guns aside and pretend to be college students.

These Marines had a choice to a) let these guys go or b) execute them. Choice a) saved the lives of other Marines.

Maybe NCIS should focus on helping America win the war.

I disagree the JAG like all in the mil follow orders I would look further up the food chain at the cowards who are afraid to prosecute this war like it needs to be.

IIRC, the term "prisoner of war" is reserved for uniformed military members. Were the 4 Iraqis in question, uniformed members of Saddam's army? Otherwise, would they not be "unlawful enemy combatants"?

Maybe NCIS should focus on helping America win the war.

Is that in their job description?

A Marine with a pistol is more than a match to four armed assholes with AK-47s. The poor bastards never had a chance!!

“The tarnished image of the Marine Corps continues to darken as more trials, more aquittals and more scandals corrode the brightly burnished steel that armors America’s premier fighting force.”

Not I nor anyone who has ever been in a position to make life and death decisions in a wartime environment feel the USMC’s image is tarnished. Sh*t happens. You have to go with the decision at hand. Not always enough time to convene a feedback session with a PowerPoint presentation.
