The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us next week on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to support Gen. Petraeus and our troops as the general returns from Iraq to testify before Congress.
For all three days, April 7, 8 and 9, our main base of operations will be in front the Cannon House Office Building on Indepenence Avenue. Blue Star mother Bev Perlson has a permit for a demonstration at that location for all three days. Anyone arriving on site should check in there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to stand with her and to get updates as to our other actions.
On Monday, April 7, Gathering of Eagles is rumored to be holding an event on Capitol Hill in the morning. However, no details are posted on their website.
On Tuesday, April 8, Vets for Freedom is scheduled to hold an event called Vets on the Hill. No details have been posted on their website either.
On Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 9, Gen. Petraeus and Amb. Crocker are scheduled to testify before the House and the Senate. The details on where and when have not been announced yet.
We'll post updates on this thread this week as we learn them.
We know this is during working hours for most FReepers, but if you can take some time off from work and stand with us it will give a big morale boost to our troops. Don't let Code Pink be the only ones they see next week. Please wear patriotic attire to distinguish ourselves from the moonbats.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for demonstrating will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Ping.
DC Chapter ping!
We will be there with signs in hand.
[Mrs T]
Better wear paint proof clothing.
[Mr] T
i suggest red clothing, as that was their paint of choice last week
Welcome to FR
Yea, red for blood. Regular people are starting to get pissed off at them. And since the police are no longer arresting anarchist for misdemeanors, protests could start getting misdemeanor rough.
[Mr] T
After the press conference they will be visiting House and Senate offices.
According to the House/Senate Armed Service Committee sites, GEN Petraeus is in the Senate on 4/8 (0930, rm. SD-106) and in the House on 4/9 (0900, rm. 2118 in Rayburn).
Ping for some info
Code Pink has put out a call for Pinkos (codepinkdc(dot)blogspot(dot)com) to join an associate of theirs who is protesting at the same location. You may want some signs indicating how leftists root for the people who are killing our troops.
I hope Bev Perlson isn't left standing out there alone against the Pinkos.
Per Kristinn's announcement, "For all three days, April 7, 8 and 9, our main base of operations will be in front the Cannon House Office Building on Indepenence Avenue.
