You sound surprised. Given that we all know what a RINO he is, exactly what revelation Sid is going for is a guess, at best...

he is heads above any POS that would work for the satanic couple known as the bubbaroids... like hemorrhoids but different.

Don't insult hemmhoroids like that. Compared to Blumenthal and the Clintons, they serve a purpose.

Isn’t this the “Grassy Knoll” guy who just got a DUI in New Hampshire?

Also known as 'the guy who doesn't beat his wife'.

I do not like McCain, but the day I believe ANYTHING from Sid Vicious will be the day - after - I die.

After all, from that day on you will be a Democrat Voter. So I guess it all makes sense...

Sid Vicious tried to have his drunk driving trial postponed. When The Beast was up here campaigning, he was arrested for aggravated DWI. He was driving, drunk, about 55 in a 30 mph zone.

The news was reported a few days AFTER Hillary won the NH primary. The papers claimed the late reporting was an honest mistake.

You'd think with the internet lowering barriers to getting information out, there'd be one conservative/libertarian politician building for the future. There is no one grasping this opportunity.

maybe that's because everyone is waiting for someone else to take the lead?

Good question, but he left the GOP sometime during the Bush I administration during the Keating 5 scandal. He just never made it official.

Remember Dennis DeConcini? DeConcini was the Democrat senator from Arizona and fellow involvee in Keathing 5. He was more conservative than McCain on a number of issues. It was he that actually pushed through an amendement to allow the United States to reopen the Panama Canal by military force, if necessary, in the event of closure by a hostile Panama regime or anyone else who took over canal operations.

This could be critical now that a ChiCom venture (Hutchinson-Wampoa) is running operations. At the time, the Democrats had a supermajority in the senate and it would have been easy for DeConcini to roll over and play "see no evil." But he did not.

Contrast that to the time when the Republicans had a senate majority and McCain chose to stab conservatives in the back!

McCain is a disaster for this party.

Not nearly to the degree that Hillary or Obama would be a disaster for this country.

there are many differences in “we” Conservatives,

The vast majority of problems encountered today on FreeRepublic involve the natural differenecs between partisans and ideologues.

FreeRepublic was founded as a non partisan, ideological gathering place. In the mid 90's arguments were between conservatives and libertarians. Today they're between conservatives and Republicans.

During the 2000 election cycle, Republicans flocked to this forum in droves, many not appreciating that FR wasn't a partisan organ. Many of those partisans still believe that as a Republican they are naturally conservative and Democrats, whom they despise, are substantially liberal or worse. The reality today is far separated from these juvenile, arcane beliefs.

I despise ALL liberals

Then why attempt to elevate one to the office of POTUS?

Stick to the conservative=good, liberal=bad etiquette when publishing on FR. If you do, your credibility won't be constantly challenged and the question of supporting someone like John McCain on any partisan ticket will be rendered moot.

The election was over for many conservatives the day the democrat McCain won the GOP primary with the votes of crossover democrats. I will vote for local politicians who are conservative and hope that a third party conservative is on the ballot or just leave the Presidential vote empty.
Thanks RNC, you are the most stupid people, other than left wing marxists, on the planet. Stupid is as stupid does, the RNC is stupid rich fools.

[Looks like McCain was several years ahead of many FReepers who have been threatening to do the same thing this year.]

True enough, but different directions. McCain was going left, we are going right. And the now liberal republican party is going with McCain. Us conservatives need a new conservative party to vote for and to represent our moral and economic views for America and the two left wing parties now are both leftist, one is just loonier than the other.
There are many conservatives who beleive the republican party has handed us conservatives our hats.

True enough, perhaps.

But since I am a Conservative, and McCain is not, even with an (R) after his name, I wont be voting for him on that basis, if there is a conservative alternative.

I see not much difference in voting for Democrat (D) vs. Republican (D) this year. But your mileage may very.

We debate this limitedlessly here on FR, but I doubt I would be convinced otherwise.

Best Freegards,

“Senator Kerry of Massachusetts says that Senator McCain of Arizona, or at least his staff, approached him about becoming his running mate in 2004……”

That’s Kerry’s vanity at work. The more authoritative accounts have it that kerry approached/offered it to McCain in a plausible-deniability mode. McCain shot it down as absurd (which it is).
