Ahh - I see the misunderstanding. You stated that you wanted people to stay home rather than vote. That takes votes from undercandidates. It is not a coat tail effect, but the result of people not voting at all. I’m trying to encourage people that will not vote for McCain to vote for Congressional and Senate candidates.
I did not say that I want people to stay home rather than vote at all.
I did suggest that if you are going to waste your vote on a third party candidate who has no chance of winning, you might as well not cast that vote. The outcome will be the same.
I will also do what I can to encourage people who will not vote for McCain to vote for Conservative Congressional and Senate candidates.
