I admire the Czech Republic. Two years ago, I was in Prague, and, one night, landed right in the middle of a rally for free Cuba. It was huge, noisy, and gratifying to see. The Czechs suffered for fifty years under totalitarianism - first Nazism, and then Communism. They have shown a willingness to stand up for those still suffering under tyranny, even more than we have.

The Czech sword cuts both ways. They’ve been very critical of US policy in the Balkans as well.

The Czechs have also been known to select interesting politicians. From the “philosopher king” Vaclav Havel to the libertarian Vaclav Klaus.

They always impress me. I have long admired them.
