Kosta’s gonna give you s**t for calling Rashka “Sandzak”. It’s like calling Kosovo “Kosova” or Knin “Krajina” and not Dalmatia :)

It's B92, what do you expect? They have a whole section dedicated to "Unrest in the Sandzak" -- even when there isn't any "unrest" --but B92 will be is ready when there is!

Sandzak is the name of turkish military and administrative-territorial units in its empire (290 sandzaks until the reformation in 1921., like Prizren, Smederevo, Herzegovina Sandzak with turkish „beg“ as ruler), and it was formed on territory of Rashka region to devide Serbia and Montenegro with its large muslim population, like buffer-zone, so that christian of almost the same ethincal background and culture couldn`t unite against turkish ocupants. Rashka was the name one of serbian regions (also Zeta and Duklja), name for mediavel serbian state in XII century; and town of Ras was residence of clerical and state elite. Today, as a result of constant turkish and late communist oppression, the name is Sandzak not Rashka, and the town (as also administrative center in that part of Serbia) is not Ras, but Novi Pazar (pazar – turkish/arab name for new town founded in mid XV century by Turks, northern from abandoned old town of Ras). After the II Balkan war 1913. Novi-Pazar Sandzak was devided between Serbia and Montenegro.
Also, Krajina is the name of military-territorial-administrative region in parts of Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia, which were formed also for military protection, but these against turkish agressors. Krajina in Croatia doesn`t cover entire Dalmatia, just a region in northern part of it behind adriatic coast.
And Kosova is falsificated name of Kosovo, whish doesn`t mean anyting in albanian (just is kidnapped territory) and Kosovo means Blackbird Field in serbian, along with state, historical, architectural, religious and spiritual meaning for serbian people in history, present and future.
