I sure hope that video of the Hellfire strike on the mortar tube turns up on Youtube or Liveleak at some point. Nothing like watching some good old American technology at work.

“...killing 10 criminals and wounding two.”
Anybody else notice that the term these days is “criminals” vs. terrorists or enemy combatants? Doesn’t that kind of reinforce the lefty contention that this is a criminal justice matter rather than a war?

Anyone else notice the new criminal terminology. For internal consumption in Iraq. Part of the end-game to pursuade the Shia population to side with the government as opposed to the Madhi militia.
To: Tex Pete
Yeah, I did.
I think the MSM is now tacitly acknowledging that the “insurgency” has been a colossal failure - so now they’ll call them “criminals” to try to spin this as “an internal Iraqi problem” that “we shouldn’t be involved with, so let’s bring all the troops home now!”

Not a combatant, IOW's. Kinda Dissing them.

My take on criminals is that it implies that the Iraqi goverment is now the legitimate sovereign and that these people opposing it are no longer insurgents but violators of Iraqi law. Rather than elevating them by calling them insurgents, they are in effect saying these people are nothing more than common criminals. Semantics, but words have meanings and are important in a war of ideals.

Anyone else notice the new criminal terminology.Yes, but I'm sure that's just to make these stories more palatable to the average Iraqi on the street. I have also noticed that we don't seem to be taking many prisoners these days.... which is the way it should have been from the beginning!

In a second engagement a Predator observed a group of armed criminals...I am really sick & tired of officials buying into PC terminology! The correct term is "terrorists".
Calling these terrorists "criminals" is a leftist tactic. That's because the left knows that words have meanings; e.g. "criminal" have legal rights, "terrorists" do not. So when the forces of western civilization embrace their enemies' leftist terminology, they lose...just like we lost "illegal alien" to the PC "undocumented immigrant" and continue to struggle against an invasion of illegal aliens.
I am certainly glad these terrorist scum were killed. But if we continue to allow our enemies to warp our language into a weapon against us, we will never win the larger war in defense of western civilization.
