East Texas Teenager Attacked Over History Project
KLTV ^ | 04/ | Molly Reuter

Melanie Bowers, 13, and her parents walked into Athens High School Monday afternoon to talk to campus police. They were hoping to get some answers.

"It never should have happened in the first place. The whole assignment was a silly assignment and they should have contacted us immediately after it happened," said J.R. Bowers, Melanie's father.

It was an assignment for history class--to make a protest sign for or against an issue, and Melanie said she chose illegal immigration. Her sign read, "If you love our nation, stop illegal immigration." Somehow, Melanie said the sign got passed around lunch and angered a group of Latino students.

"I didn't know any of these people," she said. One young, she claimed, jumped on her back and he put her in a choke hold. "We have brick walls in the middle school and he slammed my face on the bricks."

Melanie said a group of boys also threatened to rape and kill her. Eventually, the boys let her go and when she went for help, she was ordered back to class, and told she could not call her parents, she said.

“...she was ordered back to class, and told she could not call her parents, she said.”

That would be her last day attending school there, if I were her parents. Lawsuit to follow.

Life in a Sanctuary City. It’s happening all over our great nation.

“An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have “don’t ask, don’t tell” sanctuary policies in place. They are:”

Anchorage, Alaska
Fairbanks, Alaska
Chandler, Arizona
Fresno, California
Los Angeles, California
San Diego, California
San Francisco, California
Sonoma County, California
Evanston, Illinois
Cicero, Illinois
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Orleans, Massachusetts
Portland, Maine
Baltimore, Maryland
Takoma Park, Maryland
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Durham, North Carolina
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Aztec, New Mexico
Rio Arriba County, New Mexico
Sante Fe, New Mexico
New York, New York
Ashland, Oregon
Gaston, Oregon
Marion County, Oregon
Austin, Texas
Houston, Texas
Katy, Texas
Seattle, Washington
Madison, Wisconsin (I live 10 miles south. We already have Gang Bangers in our little Cow Town of 6,000.)

Sounds like some bigoted teachers need firing and some illegal alien criminals need expelling and deportation, after they are fingerprinted and given their criminal records for their crimes. Assault and uttering threats.

I think it is over the timeframe to be considered a double post. The other one is just to catch everyone up on the conversation thus far.

Since the gubmint will not do its’ job, it is time the people start protecting themselves and teach the illegals and the pimps that defend them, that it is very unwise to bite the hand that feeds you.

If someone had done that to my daughter, people would disappear.

It’s there, below the other three NM entries. Not sure about Rio Rancho - which is growing like crazy, along with a growing gang-banger presence from those being run out of ABQ.

Some schools are so dangerous, abusive, and horrific that it would be better for a child to get **NO** education whatsoever than ever step foot in one! I seriously mean it!

The school in this article is one of them.

I hope the parents of this girl immediately remove her, and are not so stupid to send her to another government school that is equally dangerous.

By the way, this incident in this school would absolutely be a “Another Reason to Homeschool” for every child in that school! Even a **terrible** job at homeschooling...Even **NO** schooling at all would be better than any child attending that school!

Our public school system has become a total disgrace. Time to kick the Democrat goobers out.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That would make a difference? I don’t think so!

Our government schools are thoroughly infiltrated by Democratic Marxists and their Useful Idiots. They are utterly beyond reform.

The ONLY solution is to SHUT DOWN these government school indoctrination camps. Permanently!

Mrs. Bowers said she wants to see the others involved in the assault punished. She also said the family is still angry Melanie was not allowed to call home from the school office after the assault. AMS Assistant Principal Mark Castleberry did not allow the teen to call home. Hayes told the Review Castleberry did not allow the call because he said he didn’t want to “mess up the investigation.”

Eventually, the boys let her go and when she went for help, she was ordered back to class, and told she could not call her parents, she said.

If she was told that she could not call her parents by the school administration, then that community needs to warm up the Second Amendment or, at the very least, but some tar and start featherin'. The gall of school administrators! Maybe a group of angry, and unaccountable, men needs to take them, slam their faces into a brick wall, threaten to rape, and otherwise terrorize the person who told this girl she could not call home.
