In his eloquent Philadelphia speech, Mr. Obama likened Rev. Wright to a beloved, but politically extremist, family member with whom one profoundly disagrees but whose rage one understands.
But this comparison just doesn't work for me. I don't get a chance to choose my family members. I do get a chance to choose my spiritual or religious leader and my congregation. And I do not have to remain silent or, more importantly, expose my children to the spiritual leader of my congregation who spews hate that offends my conscience.
Mr. Obama made a choice to join the church and to ask Rev. Wright to marry him and his bride. He said for the first time a few weeks ago that had Rev. Wright not recently resigned as pastor of the church, he would have withdrawn. But that only reraised the same questions: Why didn't he act before the resignation?

American voters better remember that Barrack Obama and Rev.Wright are ‘best buddies.’ Now I hear that Obama is also best buddies with a 60’s terrorist, who bombed our country. Hey, this should be a wake-up moment!

Hate to agree with Lanny Davis on anything, but he is correct that Obambi’s rationalizations don’t cut it, and that there’s a long time between now and November so Obama had better come up with a better explanation — however there really is no adequate explanation, so it is all just spin to try to satisfy enough of the electorate.

This line kills me! He cites all the reasons one should believe the exact opposite of this. How can anyone who has seen the videos of Wright and knows that Obama has been a member of his church for twenty years plus all the other stuff STILL write an absurd line like the above. Obama is obviously NOT a tolerant and honorable person and he obviously DOES share the extremist views of Wright, he just doesn’t want us to realize it until he is President.
The answer is simple. Obama explains it in full in his book. He chose that church because he agreed with their activism and their theology. That theology is "Black Liberation Theology", and Wright is steeped in it.
His hateful rhetoric is not a once in a while type thing as Obama would try and get us to believe. In fact, the cuts of the offensive material came from a "Best of" series of tapes of Reverend Wright that the church sold itself.
No, Obama agrees with the theology which Wright preaches, and Wright, by his own admission, got it from James Hal Cone, the individual most responsible for the development of that theology, wresting and perverting traditional Christianity to meet his own radical ends.

Lanny Davis refers to the fabled “Republican attack machine.” There’s more evidence for the existence of the Easter bunny. After all, on Easter morning kids do find Easter eggs. When does the Republican Party ever attack?
yes, the 60’s terrorist, William Ayers, who as recently as 9/11/2001 (of all days!) stated that he didn’t regret plotting to bomb the Pentagon, capitol and other government buildings, only regretted that he “didn’t do more”. Obama is a slick, silver-tongued Harvard lawyer, but keep connecting the dots. He and wife Michelle don’t think much of this country, and that’s putting it mildly.
These are scarier times than most uninformed, apathetic voters realize. We have enough enemies, foreign and domestic, intent on our demise. Please, God, not a President as well.
