This is one school with very involved parents. It is located near where I shop and the kids are all bright-eyed and smiling. It is easy to see that they enjoy their school day. Many of these students come from the inner city, but they are motivated to get on the learning bandwagon. It is obvious that they have future achievement on their minds. They also wear uniforms of khaki below the waist and navy blue tops.

Middle School
In middle school, Roland Park serves not only students in its residential zone but gifted students who come from across the City to attend one of two magnet programs. Since 1994, the Ingenuity Program at Roland Park has provided advanced instruction in all subject areas with a special emphasis on science and mathematics. For more information about this program, visit the Ingenuity Project.

Additionally, Roland Park offers an Advanced Academics magnet program that provides students with an advanced curricula and special emphasis on the liberal arts. For example, Shakespeare’s plays and Homer’s Odyssey are standard fare for these students who are also offered classes in the fine arts. For more information about this program, contact the school directly. For all Roland Park students, foreign language is offered beginning in kindergarten and includes Spanish, French, and Latin.

As a result of superb teaching and challenging curricula, 87% of the school’s middle school students move on to college preparatory citywide high schools or private schools.
