Yes they have. The Brits have always knighted musicians and composers.
Sir John Field, Sir Edward Elgar, Sir Thomas Beecham, Sir Clifford Curzon, Sir John Barbirolli, Sir Arnold Bax, Sir William Walton, Sir Arthur Sullivan, Sir Benjamin Britten, Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Sir Georg Solti, Sir Colin Davis, etc.

So Hillary is losing because Americans are all Sexist. If the positions were reversed presumably Obama would be losing because Americans are all Racist. If McCain starts to lose, is that because Americans are all Lyssophobic? (look it up).
Is it possible to make informed decisions any more, or does everything have to have an ulterior motive?

Minutes before Elton John took the stage, Bill Clinton struck an equally defiant tone, chiding TV commentators who are counting out his wife because she trails Barack Obama in delegates and the popular vote.HUH???

Hey Elton, why don't you bring you fag ass to the other side of the pond. And bring the lying sack of sh#^ with you. Oh, and don't for Billy Boy.
You have no business in American politics. And thank God I didn't buy any of you songs. BTW, you clothes last night looked like your pj's got stuck in the dryer with someone's red panties.
Keep talking for Hil, that will insure she flames-out.

PANTSUIT IN THE WIND
Tune: "Candle in the Wind"
Hello, Crusty Queen,
Though you never cleaned it at all,
You had the guts to wear your suit
While those around you crawled.
They crawled out of the odor
And they kept on holding their nose,
They shouted from a distance
And they begged you, "Change your clothes."
And it seems to me you wore your clothes
Like a pantsuit in the wind,
Never knowing what to change to
When the stains set in.
And I would have liked to have worn one,
But it would make me ill.
Your perfume wore out long before
Your pantsuit ever will.

High praise, indeed! Oh, well, at least one “man” loves her!
