Washington Greets Deal With N.Korea With Skepticism
Some U.S. government officials and congressmen have expressed opposition to a tentative deal reached with North Korea in Singapore last week regarding the Norths overdue declaration of all its nuclear programs and stockpiles.
One deputy secretary in the Bush administration says the Singapore deal does not clearly specify Pyongyang's proliferation record and uranium enrichment program, which have hitherto been key sticking points in the matter. Radio Free Asia reports that there was some discontent for congressmen when U.S. chief nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill briefed the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs on the deal last Thursday.
Quoting a diplomatic source, RFA said, "Congressmen expressed displeasure when Hill said that the U.S. and North Korea agreed to exchange a secret memorandum of understanding on the U.S. making a report on North Korea's nuclear cooperation with Syria and the alleged uranium enrichment program on the latter's behalf and North Korea agreeing to 'acknowledge' the U.S. concern over the two issues."
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice sounded reserved when she said on Saturday, "We are not yet at a point where we can make a judgment as to whether or not the North Koreans have met their obligations, and we are therefore not at a point at which the U.S. can make a judgment as to whether or not it's time to exercise our obligations."
Ping!
You know what Condi Rice remind me of Professor would allow star football player cut her class and let QB turn into incomplete term paper still give him A
Yeah even Chia Pet would hoodwink like that LOL!
Seeing as NO DEMOCRATS will be in favor of a harder line with Pyongyang, and so many within the GOP have been coopted with "Pray for President Bush Daily Dose" bushbot mentality that has so obfuscated their clear thinking as to the precise extent this Administration and State Department's is selling out to North Korea on a grand scale under Lame Duck, now nearing maybe even the level of Madeline Albright.
Many of them are playing perma-bull and appeasers. I guess they are the two sides of the same coin.:-)
You know what it seem that Condi Rice is type of professor that would allow Chia Pet the football player to turn incomplete work report I am serious sound like that Bush would look other way as University president
