I think you are partly right, but, somewhere I read that the windmill in question is owned by his brother.

His brother gets three grand a month, he gets the noise.

I’ve got to admit, if all I was getting was the noise, it would seem like a jet landing 24 7.

I'd have to know a lot more than I do now, to defend or attack anyone on this matter. My comments were merely meant to state that it is possible for people to have serious reactions to rhythmic noise.

I agree with your take on this.

The hollow pole becomes a sound carrying resonator that even transfers the ‘whump-whump’ vibration into the ground itself.

If it's low frequency that also means you can not shut out the noise. I haven't heard a wind mill so I'm unsure of how low the frequency range might go.

If so it will literally go right through a persons body into the skull. For the skeptics I can prove it. The next time one of the cars from hell with the sub-woofers drives by and you heard Boom Boom Boom, try stopping up your ears. It won't work. The noise transmits through the body and in the skull. The skull is also a part of our hearing. Those speakers when abused are one of the most intrusive things there is. Personally I think if used loud enough that other cars with windows rolled up can hear it then it should be considered as trespassing.

I used to work in a bar that was on a road where much of the late night traffic going by , went by with a ‘thump-thump-thump-thump’ , accompanied by the sound of rattling sheet metal on the vehicle.

There were discussions of just where to put some CLAYMOREs, along the road, to solve the problem.

All in jest, of course.
