When I read Obama's full remarks they appear to be an apt description of the Middle East, not America, where in some places young, bitter, angry men who are stuck in the endless dismal failures and frustration of poverty, no employment, ignorance and despair and could be easily attracted to and join zealot fanatics such as bin Laden, and "cling to their guns and religion".

"But the truth is our challenge is to get people persuaded we can make progress when there's not evidence of that in their daily lives...you'll find Obama enthusiasts and you'll go into places where you think I'd be very strong and people will just be skeptical. The important thing is that you show up and you're doing what you're doing."

What is he saying here? Is he telling his backers -- the people who are fronting him -- is he giving them a "status report" on the campaign? Is he their pony? If so, why? What has he promised them?

Of all the wicked and diabolical things to come out of this scumbag's mouth so far, I find this most disturbing. He's telling them, "this is what we have to do to get those people to fall for me."

This is like a really bad episode of the Twilight Zone.

I don’t think it was a mistake. What I’ve been hearing on the news is that there is no way Clinton can overcome Obama in delegates, even if she were to win the rest of the states. So the only way she can become the nominee is to more or less steal it away from Obama by convincing the superdelegates that he’s toxic, and that would piss off a bunch of his core supporters.

But in any case, whether she does or not, by the time the convention comes around, they’ll both have bloodied themselves and each other so bad that it’s going to be hard to keep the party together. And the longer this is drawn out, the more time the general public has to learn about both of them, and most of it ain’t pretty.

SnObama and Hitlery have about an even chance in the over/under race now for November. Given the new Marist Poll that McCain is even or leads both of them in NYState, I have to guess that over/under is about 40 states.

It now doesn’t matter which of these two survive. Hitlery will lose the bulk of the blacks and MoveOn voters. SnObama will lose the bulk of middle America. The Dems have a Hobson’s choice. Behind closed doors, they know it.
