She chose him as the father. Let me guess, she says it was an accident. Favorite line.

Child support laws may be what is keeping him broke and in jail. He cant work because the state will seize his paycheck. This is a reason why so many inner city men are in jail and the women are getting the free college degrees. My message to the men, it's the newest slavery. Debters jail. This is a way to get across the idea of taxes for endless social services as slavery.

Some people make mistakes and make the best of it, learn, and move on. Some people turn those mistakes into a lifestyle. Think he’s on the 3rd kid with the 3rd woman now so good luck transferring any blame from him onto the system.

He says, "In Washington state, it's $711 million. We could hire 15,000 teachers every year in our state at that cost. It's a tax bill of $313 per household."

You just have to love Jack "I'm not a liberal!" Kemp, eh? Don't give the taxpayers back their money, hire more educrats instead.

Problem with this article is that it assumes that people having the kids bothered to get married in the first place. We need a study about the cost of bastardom. The cost of unwed mothers to society is many times the cost of divorce, the cost of drug and alchohol and tobacco abuse and probably even more than the cost of shoplifting, much of which is caused by this problem.

I dont mean to attack your friend, she may be a very good mother, it’s just the system and culture promotes the mistakes.

How much does marriage cost taxpayers? The visits from the cops, hospital bills, damage to public property because of marriage induced drunk driving etc.

In the 1960’s... Can you think of a single show that dealt with a single mother?

The Big Valley and Julia, but there are always exceptions to the rule.

The 80's were the worst for single dad shows. They became revisionist shows, where the Dads take the backseat or a "who's taking care of whom" idea is put forth. Show like I'm a Big Girl Now, Father Murphy, Silver Spoons, Who's the Boss?, Gimme A Break!, Dads, My Two Dads, Full House, Empty Nest, The Hogan Family, etc.

Common thing around here. Your spouse is such a problem you do not want to go home so you go to the bar and tie one on. Then try and drive home and run into something or someone. See it all the time.

And all I did was use her mentality of, “ME FIRST!!!” against her.

She messed up by not going to one of those YWCA-sponsored seminars on how to take the upper hand by charging you with domestic violence and ( if you had any daughters ) incest. Lot of times, the courts just take women's assertions as gospel.

And the lawyers get paid well, no matter how it comes out.
