Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has worked to assure uneasy gun owners that he believes the Constitution protects their rights and that he doesn’t want to take away their guns.

But before he became a national political figure, he sat on the board of a Chicago-based foundation that doled out at least nine grants totaling nearly $2.7 million to groups that advocated the opposite positions.

LaBolt stressed that the foundation, which has assets of about $935 million, doesn’t take “detailed policy positions,” but rather uses its grants to “fuel a dialogue about how to address public policy issues like reducing gun violence.”

Sure. All they wanted was to "fuel a dialog". So how many grants did they give to pro-gun groups?

If you expect me to believe that, than I have the Zilwaukee Bridge to sell you. The Joyce Foundation creates gun control organizations, and among the primary funders for VPC, along with the Tides Foundation, Tsunami Fund, and George Soros.

Just go the Joyce Foundation link and click on gun violence. There's no dialogue when only one side is funded.

He has blamed his staff for indicating on a questionnaire filled out during his 1996 state Senate bid under his name that he supports banning “the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.”

Gutless prediction: Obama will blame his staff for a whole lot of things before this is over...

Never thought I'd be saying this.....

But, thanks to Center-Left blog Politico.com for doing original research on Obama.

And, thanks to Hard Left blog HuffingtonPost.com for having the integrity to print Obama’s “bitter” comments.

In one of his rare participations in the Illinois legislature during his term - he fought tooth and nail to deny homeowners the right of a hand gun in their homes for protection - why hasn't this come out? Maybe we're holding this one to hit him with, right between the eyes, if he's the nominee = that would be good "strategey"

In 2004, he voted against the right of a person to have or use a handgun for self-defense in their home ( DeMar case 2004)

Voted against letting people argue self-defense in court if charged with violating local weapons bans by using a gun in their home. (2004)

“I don’t totally blame them for being bitter,” Obama went on. “I’m articulate, clean and charismatic—everything that they’re not. And I’m a millionaire, to boot. It’s got to be hard on these rednecks to see a Black man outshine them by such a wide margin.”

Obama said that despite the animosity, he plans to be magnanimous with such people once he is president. “While it wouldn’t be safe to continue to allow them to cling to their guns, I believe we can tolerate letting them keep their Bibles as long as they don’t start any trouble,” Obama promised.

All that needs to be done is to run ads in marketplaces where these two marxists are campaigning as “pro-gun” that simply state the facts. This will surely be blasted in the media as more “swiftboating” from the “right wing smear machine”. I think enough gun owners will see the truth for what it is if it is made available.
