There's another thread around here on the subject. IMHO the Clintons are still ticked that 9-11 happened on W's watch not theirs - so instead of a war-driven legacy they have Monica. They realize that, with another shot at a term or two in the WH, in order to have a "true" legacy they need to have a war. And when President Hillary! lets fly with the Tridents**, she'll be able to refer back to this speech and say "see, I told you I was going to do this and was still elected - I have a mandate".

**ok, that was mainly rhetorical overkill. I don't think that she'd be dumb enough to be the second person in history to go nuclear in anger. Given the 30,000lb munitions currently in development and all the other goodies that the US has in its military stockpile, Iran can be reduced to a stone-age, migratory economy using conventional weapons in pretty short order.
