I'm pretty sure that's the flag is on a standard, and that's the thing that looks like an arrow. It's draped over a shield. The eagle is not fleeing. It's looking vigilant.
I think you could have video footage of Obama biting the head off of a real bald eagle, throwing its carcass on an American flag, and lighting the whole thing on fire while smoking crack and it wouldn't cost him a single vote.

Where in the writings of the Founding Fathers is any indication that they thought the President of the United States should be seen as a Messiah?
Anybody want to ask George Washington, arguably the most humble of American Presidents, his opinion on that?
