TIJUANA, Mexico (Reuters) - Fourteen Mexican drug gang members were killed and eight others were injured in a gun battle near the U.S. border on Saturday, one of the bloodiest shootouts in Mexico's three-year-long narco-war.
Rival factions of the local Arellano Felix drug cartel in Tijuana on the Mexico-California border fought each other with rifles and machine guns in the early hours of the morning, police said.
The bodies lay in pools of blood, strewn along a road on the city's eastern limits, surrounded by hundreds of bullet casings. Many of the victims' faces were destroyed.
"By the way this happened and the guns used, we believe the men are from the same cartel, the Arellano Felix gang," said a senior police officer in Tijuana who declined to be named.
That’s 14 less anyway...but plenty more to go, unfortunately.
Sure am glad that our agents weren’t involved, they are considering arming them with PAINT BALL GUNS, that is right PAINT BALL GUNS.
border war ping
Why hasn’t the “compound” been obliterated?
BTT!
Don’t worry, John will fix it all....

“Where’s the fence?”
And many tried to take him up on his deal...but he was just blowing smoke out his...well you know.
Where are the border agents? Oh yeah, in jail.
That is for sure. Bush would have a team of prosecutors on route right now to put then in prison.
That is Great!! LOL
Thank you. Nice work.
Note that the casualties were caused by intra-gang fighting, not by the police or military suppressing them. The Mexican authorites are either helpless or complicit in these wars.
It’s a civil war!
Pull out now!
Quagmire!
Mexico out of TJ!
I sent DHS an email yesterday asking them if they are nuts. I know, redundant question.
Send that photo of the Felix compound to the Mexican Federales right away, with the GPS location!
I’m just SURE that they will raid it and arrest everybody there, as soon as they get this tip!
/sarcasm
Coming soon to a city near you.
I called three of his offices trying to apply for the jobs. I was told he didn’t say what you hear him saying in the video.
A coupla salvos from a battery of 155s ought to take care of that mess...
I know, act of war and all...but, aren’t we supposed to be in a drug war?
Border Battles Ping!
That can't be right. It is illegal to own a firearm in Mexico. No doubt they bought them at a gun show in the USA. We need to close that loophole so this out of control violence can be stopped! /s/
Sounds like El Maraiachi paid them a short visit.
Were they in the Mexican police or army?
One can never tell.
Wheres the fence?
Ask Bush.
“I called three of his offices trying to apply for the jobs. I was told he didnt say what you hear him saying in the video.”
Ugh...I’m sure we’ll be hearing many more of the same kind of excuses in the future....McCain got thousands of letters applying. I thought his political career was done then. Wishful thinking.
Ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
The government in Mexico has lost control of the country. Mexico is now like Colombia was a few years back.
Yeah...if I am facing someone armed with a firearm, knife, or even a rock- I would sure want to be armed with a paint ball gun so I could defend myself. Not! I travel the border smuggler routes regularly and I carry- but not a paint ball gun.
The government really wants to recruit military veterans fo BP careers; and can’t seem to figure out why they are having a hard time recruiting enough to fill the openings- I can only imagine how successful recruiting will be if they tell them they will be armed with a paint ball gun.
