The Detroit Police Department has suspended all firearms investigations conducted by its crime lab and ordered it to undergo an independent audit.

Nah, on second thought it wouldn't work. Even Canada isn't that dumb.
Why do I say this...
What was it 14 shots in the car of Tammy Greene with 40 caliber which is what the police use....
Hmmm... as someone who may have watched to much CSI, maybe a more accurate ballistics can be taken if the fox ain't running the hen-house.... Just sayin....
Seems to me that it'd be a function that could be easily outsourced to an independant lab that could service a bunch of departments. Probably room for a number of independant labs, which allows for price/service level competition.
Shhhh. King Kwame’s minions are listening.
Give Detroit to Quebec.
Good idea, it's a French name anyway ("the straits") and the name would then be pronounced properly.

I’m with you there... no matter how you slice it the crime lab is no better than it’s workers ... and we all know at least a dozen jokes each about gov’t workers... they’re funny because they’re true. I’m not saying I believe the lab purposely gave bad results but the temptation is there when you work with (for) the prosecutors to give them what they want. This is something better outsourced,, I don’t know ballistics but I know the local ME and I know the labs at the local hospitals and I know which one is staffed with the second and third rate people (making double the salary and with pensions fit for a king).
It gets even better than that. One of the high-powered white, suburban lawyers Kwame hired to defend the city/himself argued that Detroit crooks are so savvy, they not only use the same .40 Glocks the city uses, they even use the same brand of ammunition. Just because they were .40 cal bullets fired from a Glock, and the brass found on the scene was the same brand as the police use was merely simple coincidence, according to him.
Of course, this was the first time I ever heard mention of the make and model of gun and ammo involved. I believe the lawyer also sells bridge franchises on the side.
