They may be right the Reagan Era is over. I'd say though those who are predicting the demise of conservatism are engaging in wishful thinking. Our movement has troubles - but its far from dead - yet.

I’d say that conservatism is a spent force in the GOP. If McCain becomes President (and that’s beginning to look likely...) he also becomes head of the GOP. Do you think he’s going to tolerate any conservatives in policy making positions?
I don’t think so...
It will probably take 12-20 years for conservatives to find a new home.
