Elections: The Supreme Court got it right Monday in ruling 6-3 (with even liberal John Paul Stevens agreeing) that states are free to require voters to produce photo identification at the polls.
The American Civil Liberties Union, for instance. It was the ACLU's suit against the state of Indiana over its requirement that voters need to produce a photo ID at the polls that led to the Supreme Court case.
Ken Falk, the organization's Indiana legal director, said he was "extremely disappointed" by the decision. It is the position of the ACLU that ID laws place a burden on voters, and the right to vote, Falk says, "is the most important right."
The right to vote cannot be found in the Constitution, so we're not sure from what source Falk is drawing his legal opinion. Best we can tell, voting is a privilege. Important, yes, but it's far more important that our elections are free — or as free as possible — of fraud.
Democrats still nursing their wounds from the 2000 presidential election mess — which they engineered when they brought in the lawyers — should be the first ones demanding legitimate elections. But they're not.

Its OK though - in Chicago you can still be dead and vote.
I was hoping this thread would be about the fraud that is DST.
It’s almost as if some are disturbed that the ruling will make it harder to commit voter fraud.
:::::::
The CPUSA, aka ACLU, wants their party to win. By any means, AS USUAL — that is why those treasonous maggots are fighting for our election laws to be broken.
Note to Falk... LEGAL voting is the most important right.
I think the State of Indiana should sue to get reimbursed for court costs & attorney's fees from the ACLU!
Apparently, the ACLU wanted voter fraud to be easier than buying beer.
Funny, I woulda said "Life" is the most important right.
“Its OK though - in Chicago you can still be dead and vote.”
Yes, but they make you show a photo ID of your tombstone!
You can bet your last dollar that the 'Rats won't get serious about election fraud until they think their favorite election tool has been used against them.
If they’re going to require photo IDs, does that mean they’ll start putting photos on death certificates?
In most states, it is many states it is tougher for a person to buy spray paint than it is for them to vote.

What is wrong with photo ID’s? Your drivers license has a photo on it, doesn’t it? And those that do not drive can get No Driver’s ID cards from the DMV
“The right to vote cannot be found in the Constitution...”
Not sure if I agree with this statement. The XXVI Ammendment uses the phrase “The right to vote...” when the voting age was lowered to 18. So for those 18 or older there must be a right to vote.
Nothing wrong with photo IDs. I think it’s a great idea to have to produce photo ID to vote. I’m just wondering if the dems will now push for photos on death certificates, so their voting block won’t be disenfranchised.
I hate to derail the thread, but I have to tell this story. I renewed my NJ driver license today. I needed identifying documents totaling 6 points. My military dependent ID card was worth 3 points, but the documents an illegal alien receives when they’re paroled from prison is worth 4 points. A NJ license is only worth 1 point. A high school ID card is worth 2 points. And a legal alien’s registration card is worth 2 points, or half what an illegal alien gets upon release from prison.
As long as you have a picture ID????
