Republicans have found their Mr. Wright
Seattle Post-Intelligencer ^ | April 28, 2008 | George F Will

WASHINGTON -- Because John McCain and other legislators worry they are easily corrupted, there are legal limits to the monetary contributions that anyone can make to political candidates. There are, however, no limits to the rhetorical contributions that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright can make to McCain's campaign.

Because Wright is a gift determined to keep on giving, this question arises: Can people opposed to Barack Obama's candidacy justly make use of Wright's invariably interesting interventions in the campaign? The answer is: Certainly, because Wright's paranoias tell us something -- exactly what remains to be explored -- about his 20-year parishioner.

In Monday's speech at the National Press Club, Wright repeated -- decorously, by his standards, but clearly -- his accusation, made the Sunday after 9/11, that America got what it deserved. His Monday answer to a question about that accusation was: "Whatsoever you sow, that you also shall reap" and "you cannot do terrorism on other people and expect them never to come back on you."

As evidence that "our government is capable of doing anything," he strongly hinted that he has intellectually respectable corroboration -- he mentioned several publications -- for his original charge that the U.S. government is guilty of "inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color." But on Monday he insisted that he is not anti-American: It is, he said, Americans' government, not the American public, that is a genocidal perpetrator of terrorism. So, he now denies that America has a representative government -- that it represents the public. He believes that elections constantly and mysteriously -- and against the public's will -- produce a genocidal, terroristic government.

The more he talks, the more people realize what sort of person Wright is. Since his ties to Obama are so deep and long standing, this leads one to look into what Wright actually teaches and what Obama has listened to for the last 20 years.

Wright teaches Black Liberation Theology that was the creation of the black radical James Hal Cone, who took the Latin American Liberation Theology that had been created by Marxists to lure poor catholics into their "revolution" (because they knew their totally Godless marxism would not work), and revamped it for blacks in America.

This theology teaches that Christ was an oppressed black man living under whitey rule (the Romans) who was as much or more of a social revolutionary against white oppression as he was about spiritual salvation. In this sense, the theology is much closer to what the Islamics teach about Christ than what true Christians teach about Him.

It is a hate-filled, bigoted, anti-American, race bating, marxist construct. Here is what it's creator, James Hal Cone, says about it, the same James Hal Cone who Wright constantly refers to and holds up as an icon:

"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."
This then is the trough from which Barack Hussein Obama has fed and the well from which he has drunk deeply for the past 20+ years.

Obama had said that he had not heard Wright’s controversial remarks, but to the extent that he did hear them, he disagreed with them. Obama went on to say that he didn’t much notice any political talk from Wright, and he was just there to hear about Jesus.

But after hearing Wright’s description of just what the Black Liberation Theology of his church is all about, that excuse no longer flies.

That would be like saying “I’ve listened to Rush Limbaugh for 20 years, but I’ve never heard him say anything negative about the Clintons. I’ve never heard him criticize liberals. I just listen to hear about football.”

“So, he now denies that America has a representative government.”

There is some truth to that. Doesn’t justify his means.

Exactly. Obama's claims regarding Wright are, simply put, not credible. Actually, they are exactly what Wright said they were...a politician saying whatever he needs to say to get elected. IOW, a lie.

The Rev. Wright is indeed a radical, however he most likely will force Obama out and Hillary to be nominated!! that means she is still around.
I was hoping for Obama to be the nominee and get rid of the Clintons and least for awhile, I believe McCain even with his nonsense would beat Obama for the presidency.

Precisely correct! And your analogy is perfect.

I post a lot in the Obama threads because I believe him to be the single biggest threat to America at this time. No one can convince me otherwise.

I was just listening to Glen Beck’s guest telling this same thing. Exactly what Black Liberation Theology is.

If Obama were smart he would say that Wright’s statements are a huge campaign contribution to McCain and it should be banned under campaign finance reform.

Even this is underplaying it. The Republicans haven’t “found” Wright at all - he’s managed to insert himself into the public consciousness abetted largely by Democrats who either agree with him or are trying to spin his comments away from their candidate. One reason Obama appears so helpless before it is that it’s his own side doing it to him.

Republicans and conservative talk show hosts should be VERY careful in using Wright to attack Obama as we risk being seen as responsible for Obama’s downfall. If that happens expect blacks to rally to Hellary and the RAT party. It would be much better for us to tone down the attacks and let the MSM and RATS do the blood-letting. Hellary is already blaming Republicans for Obama’s problem in hopes that when he is defeated they will support her. Do I expect the conservative talkers to show restraint and do the smart thing? Not a chance in He!!.

On Monday, Wright also espoused the racialist doctrine that blacks have "different" learning styles than do others. - Maybe we should segregate schools so the blacks could learn from blacks and not be burdened with a white mans education system which they feel is unfair or inadequate. It is hard to argue desegregation in the school system has helped the situation.

He’s obviously on Hitlery’s payroll. Watch. He’ll soon get a book deal with a six mil advance ( the book will barely pay for its printing). Pay attention to the publishing company. Probably owned by Soros ... or Murdoch.

Oh please, Obama wrote about the first sermon he heard him preach and talking the tapes to college with him... he lied.

Why is it no one remembers, during his MLK/JFK hailed speech, after doing three shows back to back first saying he wasn’t there, then saying someone told him something, then he heard and came out with a statement. In the race speech (the one where it’s everyone elses fault and off point), he said out of his mouth “I have heard him say these things”. How is it folks missed that with the gloss of MSM praising it as the Emancipation Proclamation?

Not to mention the threat/blackmail of ‘You can keep this Wright stuff up if you want to’, but pretty much it will keep going back and forth (in other words, stop bringing it up or i’ll tear this country apart racially... which is the socialist intent anyway, and narcissists don’t take well to criticism either). Just like no one knows Axelrod hired a PR firm for Wright and his church... so if Wright is spewing, it’s because Obama wants him to spew.

I will not be distracted... as he would say.

P.S. While no one watched, Obama returned campaign funds to Alsammarae. Just saying.

Why doesn’t Wright keep quiet NOW? He must know that he is hurting Obama. Hillary wouldn’t have anything to do with it. Or would she?

Please stop with your groundless fears.

If Hillary does wrest the nomination from B. Hussein Obama, Blacks will stay home in November, (with plenty of urging by other odious "reverends" like Shakedown Jackson and Fat Albert Sharpton to do so.)

The Dems badly-cobbled together constituencies of competing special interests and voting blocs FDR put together in the 30's is all but through. Their Big Tent is burning to the ground, only they haven't figured it out yet.

No, he feeds off that. He is doing it.

Strategy. Race, division, distraction.

There are many former campaign workers and staff who left the campaign in shock when they found the upclose and personal Barack; I’m sure Alice Palmer had plenty to tell stumping with Hill last week in Indiana.
