"What would you like to discuss about any other one?"

You said at #440 that we were ignorant of the Gospel, so pick a real one and ask away. I'm ready.

Care to start with Matthew 22:30?

The point isn't to know what Jesus looked like. That picture is what a Jew of his time looked like.

Keep in mind Jesus was a carpenter, as was his father Joseph. They didn't go to the lumber yard to pick up wood to make into useful wooden objects. Jesus and his male family members would have hiked into the woods, cut down the trees, cut them into logs, carried them home, removed the bark, cut the logs into planks or manageable pieces that could have been used in carpentry. All of this physical work would have been done without the simple tools that were available at the time.

Jesus would have been a strong man, very strong, involved in the intensive labor of carpentry. He would have been very muscular.

In the bible we were told that Jesus’ appearance did not make him stand out of a crowd. He didn't look like he had come from heaven. He looked human like us. This doesn't mean he was beautiful or ugly. He could have been either. We'll never know.

In fact, when you look at most of the world, there are few beautiful people. And we are all created in God's image. So, who is beautiful, according to God? Jesus? Of course. Certainly, a typical, nondescript human is also beautiful, as well as those of us who have physical deformities that make our bodies less than perfect. In the eyes of God, each is beautiful.

Don't keep trying the patience of the moderators. That applies to both of you. FR is not the place for never-ending religious flame wars.

Oh, and if I have to go back through myriad posts to find out who started the flame war, it means both are culpable, because both perpetuated it.

How about, "...is what a Jew of his time possibly looked like."

They didn't go to the lumber yard to pick up wood to make into useful wooden objects.

No kidding! Really? You mean to tell me that there were no Home Depot stores around for him?

This doesn't mean he was beautiful or ugly. He could have been either. We'll never know.

That is the point. we don't know what he looked like here in earth and it really does not make a difference, does it?

I stand by my earlier post about this topic. I like to believe that Jesus was not ugly and that he was a good looking Jew of his time.

LOL

You like to think of Him as good looking. I cannot even picture His face when I speak to Him! It is beyond being irrelevant, it is silly.

In the faces of man, I see God. But I do not put a face in my mind and think that that face is what Jesus possibly looked like.

Jesus trancends that, in my heart and my mind.

Ok...

The NEXT time OMM smarts off to me I will NOT respond to HIM; but will respond to you and let you use your decision making abilities to determine a fair and just course of action.

Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him.

Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Men must have a cancellation of their sealings before they can be married in the temple to a woman again.

That change may have been made for cases of divorce, but not for cases where the wife has died. Men can still be sealed to multiple women, but no longer to multiple living women. A couple of years back, one of the Apostles was sealed to a second wife almost exactly one year after his first wife died -- you can be quite sure the sealing to the first wife wasn't cancelled. Women can only be sealed to one man, period.

Polygamy in the afterlife is alive and well in LDS theology. Doesn't bother me, but it seems to reliably make the militant anti-Mormon crowd apoplectic. If only for that reason, I'd really hate to see it done away with :-)

Yes, you are correct. In case of divorce, then both men and women must have their sealings cancelled before marrying again in the temple. Thanks for the correction. :)

“Just tired of the personal attacks that dear admin moderator seems to blame on me. Dear admin moderator never goes back far enough to see where these folks start their attacks.”

I knew you were a cult member, but I didn’t know you were a liberal too. Playing the victim card will get you no where on this conservative forum. You should know better than that.
