As if Katie Couric didn't already have enough problems.
Weighed down by record-low ratings at the anchor desk of "CBS Evening News," and by reports suggesting she will leave that post two years before her multimillion-dollar contract expires, Couric now has civil rights groups mostly Hispanic on her back.
And for good reason.

Anyone siding with the openly anti-American La Raza is an enemy to this nation, and should be treated accordingly.
“...they accused Couric of sinking to the depths of Lou Dobbs...”
Katie got one right?
La Raza can be offended if it wants to, but it’s called freedom of the press.
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.
I don’t believe the framers of the Constitution envisioned a group of people coming over the border so that their children could be declared American citizens.
Goodness, Katie blurted out the truth? She knows that’s not allowed.
After all, it was “so crass, and so far below the networks journalistic standards set by legends Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite.” Shame on her! The Politico is outraged!
Or, rather, good for her. For the first time since joining CBS News, she did something useful.
But I still can’t get the article’s opening image out of my mind: “Couric now has civil rights groups mostly Hispanic on her back.”
Poor Katie. You just can’t win in the news business.
I experienced some of that from NATIVE BORN folk so I say “screw ‘em!!!!”
My niece is an OB/GYN who took her pre-med at HAAAAVVAAAAADDD! Needless to say, she emerged from that experience a FLAMING, BLEEDING HEART LIBERAL.
Upon completing her medical training at yet another liberal university, she interned at a hospital near the border in San Diego.
It was there that a mystical transformation took place: She began to connect the heavy deductions from the GROSS EARNINGS for which she busted her butt for as many as 72 virtually sleepless hours in a row with the taxis and jalopies regularly sliding to the curb in front of the ER.
Many of them contained pregnant illegals who won the race to deliver their babies HERE. She caught many of those anchor babies who, under the current — and ERRONEOUS — interpretation of the 14th Amendment were IMMEDIATELY NEW AMERICANS. The mother who, obviously, could not care for the child if she were back in her native land — could not be deported now even if the INS and the political bosses WANTED her deported . And as the mother of a new US citizen, the woman could remain here for about as long as she cared to and that was usually for life.
Most of those patients were welfare recipients and the deliveries were charity cases: The bill for the hospitals and HER services were routinely spread over the bills of those who DO pay. And what the other users of those facilities don’t cover went back to the taxpayers.
And since my niece was now a taxpayer, they were costing HER.
And while she may not exactly be a libertarian, today shes now a LOOONNNNG way from Haaaavaaaaaad.
And just so the bleeders who might see this dont think me some sort of ethnocentric bigot, I submit this problem is MORE than just about illegals.
Before my oldest daughter was born at University Hospital in Cleveland in 1967, I sat in the main lobby as welfare mother-to-be after welfare mother-to-be shuffled through the door to the maternity ER for THEIR free deliveries.
Before WE could take OUR daughter home, I had to cough up over 3 grand. And that was a great deal of dough in 1967, especially for a guy just out of the USAF.
As I wrote the check, I remembered the magazine article Id recently read by a hospital administrator from Massachusetts who admitted that all US hospitals practiced a form of medical Marxism, spreading the costs of care for indigents over the bills of those who DO pay for care. Given the move to socialism here, it probably will never be otherwise: Not counting Byzantine complexity and confusion, government produces and has — NOTHING unless it first takes it from some PERSON. SOMEBODY ALWAYS PAYS.
Look, I have a big enough problem paying for the 3rd and 4th generation slackers and welfare bums who were BORN here.
Its time we stopped paying for those who were not.
It should be reported as what it is in English.
“The Politico is outraged!”
The Politico has journalistic standards?
The Politico is to serious political discussion what Weekly Reader and Cricket are to Boolean algebra. ;)
Truth hurts, flattery doesn’t. Maybe that’s why the MSM doesn’t typically report this stuff.
Katey absolutely got one right. And had CBS and Katey been doing this sort of honest reporting from the beginning, hers would be the number 1 big three broadcast. It is the strict advancement of the leftist cause which has destroyed audience ratings of the MSM. Naturally, the typical response when facts are told—outrage from the left and from people who have no business in the US in the first place.
Politico obviously doesn’t have a competent editor.
“The storys central figure was a woman identified as an illegal immigrant, who was lying in her South Texas hospital bed her right arm wrapped around her newborn and her left hand punctured by an intravenous needle”
What was shy “lying” about? What a bunch of incompetents.
“SPEAK ENGLISH OR DIE”
Oh the inhumanity! The reporter could have said ..many Americans who struggle to take care of their own families think it is International Theft that they should have to pay for the care of non-U.S. citizens when Mexico and Mexicans wont when they can just steal it from their neighbor."
And it portrayed birthright citizenship as an unfair benefit to immigrants rather than a core principle of constitutional law.”
This is how dangerous groups like Maldef, Lulac and LaRaza are. Core principle of constitutional law? What constitution, Mexico’s....where they DO NOT allow anchor babies?
If CBS would do more reporting like this and show some balance and report on things that concern the average citizen their rating would be through the roof. It isn’t the newsreader it is the content.
I'd never even heard of the stuff before. lol!
