The argument that "the right of the people" is subject to reasonable regulation and restriction tramples on the very words of the Second Amendment, reading the phrase -- "shall not be infringed" -- as if it read "shall be subject only to reasonable regulation to achieve public safety." "Public safety" is frequently a canard that tyrants hide behind to justify their oppressive policies. No government deprives its citizens of rights without asserting that its actions are "reasonable" and "necessary" for high-sounding reasons such as "public safety." A right that can be regulated is no right at all, only a temporary privilege dependent upon the good will of the very government officials that such right is designed to constrain.

I’m sure the Crips, the Bloods, MS-13 and a hundred other street gangs in Mexifornia are just trembling over this new bill.

Just another reason I no longer live in that Nanny State hell hole.

Ban ammunition. Solve all problems. Worked with drugs, didn't it? May be more profitable to smuggle ammunition to California than drugs to there or anywhere else.

How will the gang bangers be able to reload (legally)? Will they care?

If this issue isn’t enough to get California voters to pick up the telephone then they don’t deserve to be armed.

To paraphrase Robin Williams last night, perhaps developing countries should borrow our Constitution — because we aren’t using it.

This legislation is an abomination. The control-freak legislators in Kalifornia are seeking to extend the liberal DhimmiRat philosophy that they know what is best for the citizens of the state, no matter the cost or Constitutional violations.
If the citizens of Kalifornia don’t see the vile, illegal, immoral nature of this bit of communism, then they may well deserve its damaging outcome. If they refuse to raise their voices against this claptrap, then they will get exactly the government they deserve.

Pathetic. Dangerous and pathetic.
