The kid needed to be scolded/swatted on the bottom, preferably by her mother. Unruly kids in public are irritating enough, but when you don't feel well and are suffering the wait at the hospital, you really don't need to endure a rambunctious, undisciplined 3-year-old. If it was to the point that the nurse felt compelled to act, I gotta come down on the nurse's side.

This is a true story, it was Grady Hospital. When my best friend was dying in ICU I was so upset and the waiting room had toddlers literally running around the chairs and playing and screaming in delight with each other. It was horrible. I'm still just speechless about it. Of course the adults should have stopped them. I think only under the most dire circumstances should one haul children to the ICU waiting area anyway. When I was a kid people under 16 were simply not allowed but it's more relaxed now I guess.
