Former Ohio Senator Howard Metzenbaum, who died in March at age 90, was an ultraliberal as a politician but also a savvy and very rich businessman. Before going to Washington in 1976, he had made a fortune on parking lots.

he made his reputation in Washington by attacking big business and fighting anything that even hinted of deregulation.
Pretty tough to be more hypocritical than that, even by Washington demonrat standards.
So why is he nicknamed “Snowbird”?
I love a guy who gets rich as a businessman, then becomes a congressman and goes on the warpath against big business. That makes about as much sense as going to bible college, becoming a pastor, and then forming a group called “Christians Against Christ”.

Reminds me of Teddy K. who has much of his family holdings in accounts in other nations in order to avoid taxation. Also reminds me of the book, DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO by Peter Schweizer in which he exposes liberal hypocrisy.
This is the same scam the Kennedy’s pulled. Rose spent the last 8 -10 years of her life living in Ma. But her estate was in Florida so they avoided all the Ma. state taxes.
No state income tax. No state estate tax.
