While the government twidles it’s thumbs, Wal-Mart comes to the aid of Americans on health care. I’m betting their in-store clinics will also put the hospitals to shame too. Who in their right mind would buy generic drugs anywhere else? Wally World is saving us a bundle. Their prices beats our insurance drug plan.

Kroger has much the same system. After a showdown with my PCP last week my prescription bill went from $265 to a little over $100.00 a month total. Gotta love generics.

While the government twidles it’s thumbs, Wal-Mart comes to the aid of Americans on health care.

I am sorry to disappoint you but WalMart has special pricing (due to the high volume buying) to fast moving generics so they can afford crushing down mom and pop's small pharmacies and the majority of these generics come from China. Most of the major drugs in the past 2 years have been from drug manufacturers importing from China. The Heparin Syringe recall was already deemed as purposely being contaminated.

So next time when you get your refill from WalMart ask them to show you the original bottle and check on the side carefully by whom and where it was manufactured. You can have for example Mylan Pharmaceuticals having one of the cheapest beta blockers Atenolol manufactured in Chiana. Upon careful read of the original bottle you will see Mylan's logo plasted on the front but on the side you shall find "Manufactured by XXXX from Beijing, China for Mylan Pharm".

So I say thanks, but not thanks. I might be a pain in the behind but my pharmacy knows my peculiarity when it comes to generics so they always show me the original bottle. If it's made in China I simply refuse it and they either order from a different manufacturer or they lose my business. The competition is tough enough right now amongst retail pharmacies (reason for the discounted generic program and not for altruistic reasons) where they always comply. Besides, they do understand my neurotic behavior, they have the same doubts about Chinese meds :)

“I’m betting their in-store clinics will also put the hospitals to shame too.”

CVS already has the in-store clinics in select stores.
