FOXNews ^ | Monday, May 05, 2008 | Brit Hume

Plants' Rights It isn't just the rights of animals that some are promoting. The Weekly Standard reports an ethics panel in Switzerland is expressing concern that the arbitrary killing of plants is morally wrong. The Swiss Federal Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology says that humans cannot claim "absolute ownership" over plants; that "individual plants have an inherent worth," and that man may not use them as he pleases.

Clearly the first nation-state composed of vegetables. I am not willing to become a vegetable for supposed protection.

I think the bacteria that produce Swiss Cheese have inherent worth too. Oh wait...you say now I’m meddlin”?

You are not far off. How about the germs that cause polio or small pox? Aren't they alive. Aren't they just as deserving of life as any other organism? Who are we to judge? Who are we to force our cultural values and prejiduces on other forms of life.

Interesting show it was indeed. When all of this organic business started a few years ago a chemistry professor indicated we should keep using sprays; he said the natural protection plants produce to ward off trouble is wicked toxic.

I have been in favor of this for some time. We need to stop the unethical treatment and consumption of plants. Lawyers must be called to defend those that are unable to just, runaway.

Yeah, but Brussel sprouts and okra are free to live to a ripe old age as far as I’m concerned, and die in their (garden) bed.

My daughter was sighted for picking wildflowers in N.C. and had to appear in court. She didn’t realize there were protected plants!

What did you expect? The county was broke and the judge wanted a raise.

[... Can’t wait for this insanity to pop up here in the USA...]

It’s already here.

Last year, while building our home in the Pacific
Northwest, it became necessary to call an arborist
regarding a sick and deadly maple on our property.
When it was determined that the tree should go, the
arborist said he could “euthenize” the tree for $1500
then added how unfortunate it was that the tree would
have to “pass on”. Then, silly me, I said, “of course
it was unfortunate, but afterall people ARE more
important than trees”. (Crickets)

Flippin’ moonbat! Wonder if he mows his grass. Next
thing it will be a crime to cut our own hair and nails.

GENESIS 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

GENESIS 2:15
God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it...

Reminds me of Notting Hill. “I’m a fruitarian. We only eat plants that have already fallen to the ground and are already dead.”

“I see, so these carrots...”

“Murdered”

Vegetables have been voting Democrat for years. DESPITE the fact that they are disproportionately eaten by them.

...The program projected the decay and eventual disappearance of roads, buildings, and other manmade structures over the course of time...

No need to project the decay. Take a look at darn near any country in sub-Sarahan African 30+ years after their imperialistic European colonial overlords packed up and left.

(And no, that's not a racist statement. Just b/c something is unflattering doesn't mean it's wrong.)

[... SAVE THE CUCUMBER ...]

Now that’s funny!

A while ago I found this awesome site on the
internet with every Gilbert and Sullivan show
ever produced. As I listened, I realized much
if not all of the Veggie Tales melodies seem
to be ripped from G&S. Who knew?

I ate beef and poultry products today - The cow was the murderer - the burger was justice! Tasty justice - but then the bread was ... and tomato ... and pickles... and lettuce...I guess I am a killer too!
