COLORADO CITY, Ariz. As the supper dishes were being cleared away and the rice pudding brought out for dessert, Marvin Wylers two wives, along with some of their children and a group of friends, began poring over the list.
The 44-page document, from a court in Texas, gives a glimpse of who is married to whom in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or F.L.D.S. and in the hothouse world of religious polygamy, a list like that is a sort of Rosetta Stone to the usually hidden relationships of power, politics and piety.

PING!!
FReepmail to be added to the FLDS Eldorado Legal Case Ping List
Yet another NY Times hit piece to ensure that Romney is not VP (they fear this most of all). Yet no expose’s about Obama.
It still stinks, the way they rounded up all the innocent children - ripped them right out of their mothers’ arms - and dumped them in foster homes hither and yon.
It really doesn’t matter.
The mothers would kick out their boys and marry off their daughters to old men when they turn 14 or 15.
Would you rather have the children raped by old perverts?
Sounds like a lot of light bulbs are are popping on in the heads of Colorado City/Hildale residents. And with Warren Jeffs in prison and other senior leaders a tad distracted at the moment, it’s going to be hard to clamp down on the information flow. Unlike the Texas ranch, there are no “compounds” in Colorado City/Hildale, and there are a lot of people like the Wylers — ex-members of the FLDS, but still polygamists — living intermingled with the FLDS members. I predict that the Colorado City/Hildale community will survive, but with a return to the more relaxed and fairly open society that existed when polygamists first settled in this area back in the 1930s. And a new prophet who’s not stark raving insane.
Good. It’s about time the heat was turned up on these vile men.
And foster homes are not as bad as some would have you think. Hmmm I raised 2 boys & never took a dime for them. Yet they had a inground pool, they shared a room, had a hot tub & whatever brand sneakers & clothing they asked for. I guess I wasn't a foster home as I did it because my 2 boys were my son's friends but they needed a loving family & they got it here. Monster that I am! And one just came back home with his wife when I was sick to help me with Sassy. Since they are now having a baby we decided it would be better for all of us if they just stayed here & saved their money.
I would rather see children whose mothers are unable or unwilling to take proper care of their children in a foster home then tossed out as the Lost Boys or girls given to dirty old men when they are underage to have sex in the name of a religion.
Oh, gimme a break. Most of those kids can’t identify their parents and their parents refuse to identify their own children. And a lot of parent-child pairs had already been forcibly separated by Warren Jeffs, as he ordered some parents sent to YFZ without their children, and some children sent there without their parents. This is a criminal group that practices institutionalized child abuse, and nobody owes any of them any apologies for bringing the operations at the isolated compound to a screeching halt. Plenty of these children would never have seen one or both of their parents again if they’d been left at the compound, but WILL see them again now that they’ve been taken out.
Good damn question. What is the reply???
Sigh, next we will hear about the tanks & the guns....Are you ready?
“They think theyre going to be next that theres so much pressure being brought on me that Im going to raid them, said Utahs attorney general, Mark L. Shurtleff, a Republican. They hear the rumors, and they call.
Mr. Shurtleff said he planned no change in tactics, and no mass raids, which he said would only destroy the trust needed to protect people, including the young girls his office is trying to help. It is a point, he said, that he intends to make forcefully on Thursday night on a shared stage with the Arizona attorney general, Terry Goddard, at the meeting in St. George, about 45 miles from here.
Mr. Goddard, a Democrat, said he too intended to continue pursuing accusations of abuse case by case, with no mass arrests or seizures in the offing.”
The old teammates seem to be falling all over themselves to let the cults know that the sanctuary is still in place.
Thank God for Texas.
Well, if they all were adults (over 18) when they entered into their “arrangement” then they have nothing to be concerned about (other than some embarrassment over their personal lives becoming reading material for the bottom of the birdcage).
If they were underage or conspired to allow their underage children to be married off or thrown out onto the streets then I hope they’re scared.
With Jeffs out of the way, I think things are loosening up. This is from a 2007 blog: http://blogs.sltrib.com/plurallife/2007/04/dogtown.htm
One sign things are changing: Dogs are every where.
I talked yesterday to Isaac Wyler, an ex-FLDS member who still lives in Colorado City, and he told me there are ‘’more dogs in this town than you can shake a stick at. They are coming in in droves.’’
You may remember that several years ago, former FLDS president Rulon Jeffs ordered the FLDS faithful to get rid of their dogs after a toddler was killed in a dog attack. The obedient followers did so.
Wyler also said kids are out playing — which I did notice last week while visiting the town. But is that due to the warm spring weather after a long hard winter, or something more?
Maybe some of the stalwarts will even show up at the Easter Festival set for Saturday in Cottonwood Park in Hildale.
Wyler and others say there appears to have been a change in philosophy. A year ago when Wyler went around town posting tax collection notices on doors he could hear taped sermons of FLDS leader Warren S. Jeffs being played in most of those homes.
That’s not true this year, Wyler said. He has heard tapes of Wendell Nielsen, whom many think is in line to become the next FLDS leader, playing in some homes.
Well when he starts hearing “God bless Texas”......
When you need a wide angle lens for a family portrait, get ready to talk to the Rangers.
“We are adding up the number of men who may be going to prison, said Isaac Wyler, 42, the eldest of Mr. Wylers 34 children, who was examining the list on Sunday to see which men may have had wives under the legal age when they married.”

That “Pucker~Factor” just went Up,,,
I’m bettin’ that will be a large number,,,
I am wondering how many are running to Canada or the Mexican compounds.
“Would you rather have the children raped by old perverts?”
God forbid. The “old perverts” should have been rounded up, not the innocent children. And if the “old perverts” were rounded up, the women would be free to get their heads out of the rear-ends and get a clue. As it is, all of their fears about the outside world have come true.
