Obama camp: Clinton not looking for a deal

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign rejected suggestions Sunday that Sen. Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in hopes of brokering some kind of agreement with the likely Democratic nominee.

"I don't believe that Sen. Clinton is looking for a deal," Obama's chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod, told "Fox News Sunday," when asked about suggestions she may want the Obama campaign's help retiring her campaign debt.

"I don't think that's what this is about," he said.

Last week, Obama sparked rumors that his campaign would pay off Clinton's campaign debts once he secured the nomination.

"I'd want to have a broad range of discussions with Sen. Clinton about how I could make her feel good about the process and have her on the team moving forward," Obama told reporters Friday.

Axelrod on Sunday called the discussion "premature," and said he believes Clinton "will have the capacity to retire her debt."

Axelrod said Clinton has "competed hard" and is "playing it out as she sees fit. I don't think she's waiting for a cue or a signal from us or an offer of financial assistance. And I think that would demean her to suggest otherwise."

He added, "I don't think even under any scenario ... that we were going to transfer money from the Obama campaign to the Clinton campaign. We obviously need the resources we have. We have a great task ahead of us." He said he believes "there was a misunderstanding out there about that."

Axelrod said he believes Clinton "will have the capacity to retire her debt."

He also denied rumors that the Clinton camp may be in some kind of discussions with the Obama camp to make her his running mate. "There's been no discussion about vice presidential nominees and this whole scenario," Axelrod said.

I totally deny any and all rumors to any effect.
Tommorow, what will turn out to be true?

As I've been saying for many years, I'm worried about VICE President Clinton.
Think of it:

• Two years and one day into her term the first slotter gets arkincided
• Under Article XXII, she can still run for two full terms as the incumbent
• The Glorious Hillary!™ Decade begins
• Hillary uses the Patriot Act to it's fullest extent, and beyond
• At the end of the Glorious Hillary!™ Decade there is a National Emergency "temporarily" delaying the elections
• Under the pressure of the National Emergency, the 2nd and 22nd amendments are repealed
• By the time the National Emergency is over all the 'improved' source code for the touch screen electronic balloting will be in place......

Just as an aside, with the Clinton's well known love of 'ethnics', Obama is very expendable, isn't he?

See tagline for the only other deal her Heinous would like...

One thing we know ahead of time. The clintons are nothing if they aren’t team players.

A frightening scenario. Even more so because it is a real possibility.

First of all there is no way Shrillary gets the VP nod. There may be some posturing to this especially by the Clintons but it ain’t happening.

This is more about the Grifters trying to extract money as she is in the red and with the crashing of publicity that she is done all about, little likelihood enough suckers can be found to put it to zero.

So she will posture and try to get Obama to pay her bills. Obama’s campaign is publicly resisting already.

More popcorn.

I don’t get it. Why would O’Bambino want to pay Shrillary’s bills? As a condition of getting her out of the way? She’s got plenty of her own moola in the bank.

I used to see people saying all this stuff when Bill Clinton was President and none of it happened. All kinds of people were just waiting for him to declare a national emergency an then take over as dictator. But,he got his two terms and that was that. Well...LOL...I guess he’ll be back if SHE gets in. But, seriously, I doubt that most of what you said will happen. I can see your first point, though.... :-)

I don't think you have to lose sleep over that, at least not for 2008. There is no interest in the Obama camp of putting The Witch in that slot, according to everything I've heard. They are more interested in a white male who can be thought of as a "moderate." Plus, Obama's wife has reportedly said "absolutely no" to such a deal.

Even if Obama defied all odds and picked her, the Dems would still go down to defeat in November.

How often do democRATS reverse the obvious? Don't buy it.

Just like Hitlery wasn't running. The earth is warming. The economy has sucked since January, 2001. Schools need more money. Nothing but lies.

I haven’t seen it in a truly delicious form yet, but I am waiting to read about certain breeds of Republicans warning us about what the Democrats will do with the Patriot Act if “conservatives fail to vote for John McCain and usher in a Democrat victory”.

Can only imagine what Teddy’s telling Obama in private.

Teddy said publicly no VP slot for Hillary....b/c she doesn’t live up to the “higher aspirations” of the Dem Party (whatever that is).

Maybe he’ll invite Hillary to Chappaquiddick.

pay her the $12 million she put in and she’ll stop. Unless she is hoping that Obama does something really, really, really stupid and delegates pick her.

I’m sure that McCain will be more than happy to retire any debt that Hillary’s campaign piles up ... especially if consedrvatives are having too much fun watching her go down in flames, as well as in debt.

I think if she loses, she is out. The Clintons have made a lot of enemies with their bullying tactics. Even the Nancy Pelosi’s and Diane Feinstein’s of the world won't try to get her the veep job.

But these people are evil, not stupid. They are ideologues who no doubt are aware of the strange deaths that have been associated with the Clintons. To give Hillary a vice presidential slot would not invite one of these accidents, but one that is so high profile the media wouldn;t be able to bury the story.

I think Soros and company have had it with the Clintons.
