RAMALLAH, West Bank — Hezbollah's dramatic gains in Lebanon last week are just part of a regional process that began last year in the Gaza Strip and will continue in Jordan and Egypt, a Hamas official in the West Bank told The Washington Times.

Another reason that Israel will need to thrash these savages, and soon. Allowing Hamas to build power in Gaza and Hizbollah to build power in Lebanon is not merely a local catastrophe — when the Islamo-fascists believe they are on the ascendant they gain a lot in fanatical believers and also in resources. When they know they have had their butts handed to them again and their terrorist organizations are in ruins, with many leading terrorists dead, then they get demoralized for awhile. Israel is in an existential struggle, and in the fervent desire for “peace” sometimes seems to forget that.
