JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville high school student was recently beaten and battered at school by three students he said he didn't even know.
Witnesses to the attack told police Forrest High School sophomore Karl Koch Jr. was targeted because of the color of his skin.
"They started closing in, and all I remember is getting hit," Koch said.
Koch's wrist was shattered and six screws and a plate now hold it together. He also has nine stitches above his right eye.
Two 15-year-old students and one 17-year-old student were taken into police custody and charged with aggravated battery in connection to the attack.
"I just seen them around school a few times and never really talked to them," Koch said.
According to the police report, one of the suspects said, "Look at the white boy, he looks like a victim," before punching Koch in the eye.
The report states all three attackers began kicking Koch and then laughed and ran away from the scene.
"It seems like he was picked out just because was the only white boy in the crowd," said the victim's father, Karl Koch Sr.
He said when he arrived at the school paramedics had already put his son in an ambulance.
"When I got to ambulance, it was a whole different story. His eye was split open, there was blood everywhere," said Koch Sr.
The Koch family said they said they hope the three students responsible get what they deserve.
"I want to see them get the penalty -- the stiff penalty -- for this and what they did to my boy," said Koch.
A school district official said the three students arrested could be expelled, but said the school board would decide on a punishment.
I grew up in the 60s Jacksonville, FL when getting attacked simply for the color of your skin was the norm.
The only way for that to happen would be for someone to give them the @sswhooping they deserve.
I'd sooner send my son to a penitentiary for prep school.

My experience in Jax in the late 60's was the opposite of yours. Had we stayed a few months longer I would have been a freshman at Forrest HS
Ironically, N. B. Forrest High is predominantly black.
More ironically, they are their teams are named the Rebels, and they wear gray uniforms. It’s something to see on the friday night high scool football clips: the all black Rebels of Forrest High, wearing CSA gray.
Undoubtedly the defense attornies will declare that the miscreants were “honor students”..

Why does the board get to decide? Aren’t they a responsible party in this attack? Where is the school security? They need to get their lawyers working on this.

There are schools that are so horrific that it would be better for a child to be illiterate and innumerate than to ever set foot in one. ( I **seriously** mean it!) This school is one of them.
I agree with Travis McGee. If I absolutely had to institutionalize my child for his education, I'd send him to the state penitentiary before allowing him to attend this government school. Prison is likely safer.
Here in Las Vegas, a black teenager recently shot a white teenager who was just walking on the sidewalk. He shot from his car and didn’t know the victim. No mention of hate crime. I wish someone would catalog all the black on white crime in which hate crimes are never considered. Then the next time a white is accused of a hate crime his lawyer can prove that the hate crime laws apply only to whites.
Could be. Hopefully their incarceration will get a truant officer on them as well. Sheesh.

This is simply a clear case of justifiable outrage taking on a physical manifestation. Somewhere in that white boy’s past he knew, heard or thought about the “N” word.
That school board had best let those youngsters back in that school, anything else is genocide.
Were someone to do that, everything from the compiler's ancestry to their methodology would be crucified by the powers-that-be and/or collectively ridiculed into oblivion. Sort of a reverse-hate-crime Salman Rushdie experience, if you will. The statists and their racial unrest industry simply cannot afford to have too many people figure out just how bad things have gotten.

The school expulsion and the courts are seperate. The kids were arrested.
This is not a big story in the local news. “Mustn’t rile the natives.”
Maybe the three black muggers saw a noose a few months ago, so their rage is understandable and they should be released.

Friggin racists... The numbers of people who do NOT hold our government school systems in contempt are dwindling to those who are just too stupid to understand the situation, or those who are in outright denial that it could be in its present state.

Their parents, who say they love them, don't love their children enough to remove them from the danger. Kids learn that their parents are indifferent, very stupid, very intimidated by government authority, or very addicted to free babysitting ( in other words, lazy or greedy).
Kids also learn that school officials care more about their job than the kids.
They also learn a lot about about Christianity from the Christian teachers who stand as models of ineptitude, weakness, timidity, indifference, addiction to a government paycheck, hypocrisy and/or stupidity. ( Who would continue in, or join, a religion with people like that?)
It varies greatly from school to school. To a large extent, you can examine the percentages to determine the climate of criminality.
They can’t chanrge blacks with hate crimes. It defeats the whole purpose of the law. The law is meant to make liberals feel better.

There are plenty of people who KNOW that the government school systems are utterly dysfunctional, and even cruel. But...they continue to support the system because they suck a living from the government school teat. This would make them greedy and evil. Those who enjoy seeing children suffer are simply purely evil.

I would love to see the statistics on PS crime in regards to the “darker” it is, the more criminal it is?
The overall stats indicate that black crime is 700% higher than white crime....wonder if that translates to PSchools?
