After his "global warming" performance yesterday, I'm wondering if we've even got that.
We say McCain will probably be better on Iraq. Probably. But he seems to have no vision of the War on Terror beyond Iraq.
Despite his past record, we think he'll be better on taxes. We think.
Despite his duplicitous past dealings, we think he'll be better on judges. We think.
Despite his previous actions, we think he'll be serious about controlling illegal immigration. We think.
Based on his rhetoric, we think he'll be better on spending. We think.
Based on his actual performance over the past eight years, though, do we actually believe McCain will stand firm on these issues? Or any issues at all? His history is that of an opportunist -- not a principled legislator. Will he really appoint strict constructionist, original intent judges -- since such judges would likely find McCain-Feingold unconstitutional?
Once McCain clinched the nomination, he had roughly nine months to earn conservative votes. Three months have passed...and he's actually moved further to the left, seemingly turning his back on the party's base.
Let's say McCain does win. Will the Republican party and conservatism be better off for it? Or will Republicans like McCain be firmly in charge of the party, creating a permanent minority and making conservatives politically homeless?
With every passing day, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to take John McCain on faith. I'm willing to be convinced...but he's making no effort.
However Obama is a JERK on EVERY issue. There is nothing Obama is right about. He is as wrong as wrong can be.
Yes we must hold our noses and vote for McCain. It will be four years of gridlock and struggle but we will survive.
McCain does strongly support Nuclear Power and this is something we really need even if this climate issue were not out there.
McCain is pretty good on national security. This might be the most important issue.
McCain will nominate judges like Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court. This is huge. This also means he will support conservative judges for other Federal Posts. Can you even begin to imagine what kind of judges Obama will appoint? Think Ginsburg! Think Breyer.
Yes this is a painful time for conservatives but we cannot allow Obama to be elected. We can survive McCain but we cannot survive Obama.

McCain said Ailito wears “conservatism on his sleeve” and was part of the Gang of Fourteen, securing the filibuster of conservative judicial nominees. And, his close friend and adviser, Warren Rudman was responsible for giving us that rock ribbed conservative, David Souter.
While I still grind my teeth at McCain’s support of fighting global warming, his support for nuclear energy allows me to grudgingly tolerate him. And so far, he hasn’t talked about shredding our national soveriegnty by signing the Kyoto Treaty.
There are, however, about 25 million shredders of sovereignty he's pandering to - some right in your very own voting district, I'd wager.
Yep, and now I am convinced he really IS the “Manchurian Candidate”. We, the American people, are going to pay for anti-pollution smokestacks in China so we can be blackmailed into cleaning up the entire planet - McCain, you are a disgrace and I am not voting for you, period!

Bob Barr, hmmmm, now that's a libertarian candidate who:
1. Called medical marijuana evil and blocked all tries at passage.
2. Voted for the Patriot Act, then did everything in his power to dilute its checks on terror.
3. Backed wishes of homosexual libertarians wanting to marry but also backed the Defense of Marriage Act denying them the right.
4. Proclaimed himself "Pro Life" but participated in his wife's own abortion.
5. Was the most strident U.S. Congressman for Clinton's impeachment while carrying on an extramarital affair of his own...really class guy, alright, that Barr.
Disagree. President McCain or President Obama - same thing, not a difference between them. Both idiots and both cannot be trusted.

This will seriously damage our economy.
You cannot pull trillions of dollars out of the free market system and have zero output increase without causing serious damage.
Which, all ye MacCainacs, is PRECISELY how MacCain would run his White House: make common cause with Teddy Kennedy, the democrats and the RINO's and screw over the conservative movement. You've seen how he's shivved you in the back before. You see how he'll shiv you in the back again. Just don't whine about it when President MacCain puts millions of illegal aliens in your teenage daughters' history classes, raises your taxes and runs judicial nominees by Teddy Kennedy first.
#4 is the one we definitely need to change before the 2012 election. There is absolutely no way in H*LL that a person who is not part of the party should be able to vote in a party election. There is no doubt that this is how McShame became our nominee. At no time did he win a plurality of Republican votes. Most of the Republican votes in the early primaries were split between Romney and Huckster.
McCain is doing more and more to alienate the base and ensure his defeat.
If Zell Miller instead of B. Hussein Obama or She Who Must Not Be Named were running against McCain, I could be persuaded to vote Democratic.
