Even though I wrote the darn thing, I still have to link to it.

Everyone, especially Louisiana residents, should call their reps and make sure that HB199, the bill to allow licensed concealed carry on college campuses in Louisiana, be voted on! This is a VERY critical bill, in part because it would set valuable precedent for other states!

You've been pinged because of your interest in Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and the ongoing mission to remove the double standard of concealed carry between college campuses and city blocks.

Last week, in one of my daughter’s classes at Calif. St. University San Bernardino, one of her teacher’s brought a gun on campus. He went into quite a few buildings with it and even left bullets on the president’s desk.

This week, my daughter has a new teacher for the class.

Well written, Dave.

Once CCW is permitted, it is hard to get the public to remove it, as the track record always shows a decrease in crime.

The only thing left for the MSM/DBM lefties is to LIE, and hope they won't be caught.

Many police trainers are pushing an immediate response by the first officer in active shooter scenarios.

Data shows that the active shooter typically targets a large body of helpless victims (i.e. "Gun Free Zones") in a school, church, etc. As soon as the active shooter faces resistance, he will typically give up or commit suicide.

Now, how much less effective would the active shooter be if he/she faces immediate firepower from an armed citizen? Think Colorado Church shooting versus Columbine.

I can’t figure out if Captain Obvious is our ally or our enemy. Either way, people seem to have a hard time grasping the obvious...bad guys don’t like good guys being able to stop them.

When bad guys are surprised by a gun-carrying person who refuses to be a victim, they usually create a Democrat-type mess in their shorts.

Good for you, Dave--I applaud your efforts, and hope that you are able to get this passed!

I have two things I sorta disagree with you about, though--we can and do carry in our state capitol--without incident as far as I know--and I do want law abiding citizens with CHL's-(myself included) on every airplane!

Commonsense with a history of data to back your statements up. But in these days idiocy, the lie has become the truth. Thanks for your efforts.

Especially after they've gone to all the trouble of getting elected.

Some people think their feelings about guns, rational or not, should trump other people's right to carry a gun for self protection.

State laws vary...I can’t carry in my capitol, and I don’t think it’s allowed in LA either.

As for the airplanes, well, I’m just stating the current state of events, not commenting on what they should be. Airline carry isn’t something we’re tackling, we’re just about colleges.
